If you're using it for speaker cable; i.e., from power amp to speakers, you don't need to worry about interference because the s/n ratio is so low that it would be imperceptible no matter how good of a system you have. Running it in conduit should be fine, but I wouldn't run it in conduit WITH electrical lines.

I don’t think so... and I’ve run it through conduit without interference problems but probably depends on your specific circumstances.

Way to strip the outer layer of insulation without compromising the inner layers?
A shopper
on Feb 25, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Best way I did it is to use sharp scissors. Open the tips slightly. You slip the lower under the housing. You can then hold the casing behind the scissors. Then just slide the scissors along the casing and it will slice the casing. Just be careful not to point the tips downwards into the wires.

I used a straight knife to cut the outer white cover, going in the direction of the black and red wire, actually between the two to guide the blade. Then a normal splicer tool to take covers off the speaker wire.

Use either a zippy style letter opener or thread snip sewing scissors at the open end of the cable. Work the sharp blade of either tool and the insulated outer cover peels open effortlessly.

Voltage is minimal (probably why ratings are not generally quoted) and totally dependent upon the amplifier power.
A 100-watt amp (per channel) will be about 30 volts RMS.

It doesn't really matter. 14AWG can be used for about any speaker with that load as long as the wire isn't longer than 50ft. 12AWG is overkill for most people but for this price why not?

Good quality cable for my system.
I purchased this Monoprice #12 speaker cable to upgrade from the same Monoprice #14 when I relocated my speakers that changed cable length. By using bigger cable to #12, it seems sound got tiny bit louder at same volume setting though quality of the sound stay the same. Just matter of better conductibility? It was significant improvement you can clearly hear from Home Dept cable to this Monoprice cable.I am actually very happy with both of the product.
