Is there a positive lock on the extend/retract motion? (in other words, when fully extended, do I just push the tray to make it go under the desk or is there a locking mechanism that holds it in place until I want to stow the keyboard under the desk? )

How tall is the unit when stowed under the desk?
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: It depends on how you have it adjusted. Mine is fairly level and I have it locked so it slides in without hitting where attached to the desk...It is about 5 1/2 inches at the tallest point (which is behind the tray) and about 4 inches at the front of the tray.

since it can tilt. 4-6 inches from the bottom to the bottom front of the keyboard to the bottom of the desk. The mechanical pivot arm extends about 6.25 inches below the desk.

From base of desk it is 4 inches down to the bottom of tray when it is in a level position. If you have it tilted down, it would be more distance accordingly.

Does the arm swivel a full 90*? That is, could this be mounted and used sideways?

BEST ANSWER: Very small.. You should yourself if you want it dropping on your knees. My recommendation is to insert a long 1/4 inch thick bolt and feel safe. Monoprice Sit-Stand Dual-Motor Height Adjustable Table Desk Frame, Electric, Black
BEST ANSWER: Hi, they will not work well together since the desk frame will get in the way.
This keyboard tray is mainly designed to add some ergonomic adjustment for static desks that do not provide adjustability.
The height-adjustable desks on the other hand, are best for setting the surface height for comfortable use and typing since the desk is more stable than the keyboard tray, while monitors would provide the best adjustments when using monitor mounts so they can be easily adjusted between sitting and standing positions.

Workstream by Monoprice Adjustable Ergonomic Keyboard Tray With Full Size Platform
Monoprice Single Motor Angled Electric Sit-Stand Desk Frame with Built-In Casters
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the keyboard tray is actually designed more to be used with ordinary desks that do not have height adjustability. The keyboard tray was meant to be the adjustable part to help with ergonomics for users who are not upgrading their desks and would therefore not have an easy way for adjustments.
If you are planning on using a height adjustable desk, it is actually better to set the desktop height for a comfortable typing position, providing you a more stable and fine-tuned platform, and then to adjust the monitor (or to use a monitor mount) to set the screen height and angle at the best levels when sitting or standing.
The issue with using the two products together is that the desk has a center frame rail that would prevent the keyboard tray rails from being installed properly (unless you have a really deep desktop).
Hope this helps.

Can the arm be mounted so that it is rotated 90 degrees from how it is normally mounted? So that the track is mounted parallel to the front of the desk and it slides left to right, rather than front to back? Or, put another way, for the four screws that attach the arm to the track, are they arranged in a square (so could be rotated) or a rectangle? I'd like to use this with one of the sit-stand desk frames, but the crossbar for the frame will interfere with mounting this normally.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, this keyboard tray only swivels +/- 20 degrees so it won't work with your intended use. It is designed for use with ordinary desks that are not height-adjustable, where the keyboard tray would provide the height-adjustment options so the user can get a better ergonomic position.
For height-adjustable sit-stand desk, best practice would be to adjust the entire desk height for comfortable keyboard and mouse position. This gives better adjustment and adjustability than using a keyboard tray. Then the monitor could be adjusted for the correct height and position using an adjustable monitor mount.

Do you have any plans to release a model with a more narrow platform? It would be great if you made a model where the platform could fit between the armrests of an office chair, ~17-18"
I prefer to use a compact keyboard (11.5") and this platform is about 2.5 times too big! Looks like a fantastic product otherwise.

Excellent keyboard tray at an unbeatable price.
Great quality, heavy-duty materials with a solid and precise build. The keyboard tray slides in and out, rises up and down, pivots side to side, and the tray itself pivots at an angle up and down smoothly yet stays in place and does not bounce when in use. The pad running along the edge of the tray is soft and comfortable yet firm and durable, and keeps the keyboard and mouse from falling over. The tray itself is large enough for the bulkiest and widest of keyboards with plenty of room left for a mouse. The track is made of thick solid metal and mounts firmly to the underside of the desk (you will definitely need someone to help you mount it which is a good thing in this case). These are all features only ever seen in keyboard trays four times more expensive than this one. I thoroughly recommend it.

Not bad, easy to install and put together.
very easy to assembly and put under the desk. The main pivot point is heavy and just don't know why it is, keyboards and mouse are not that heavy. But it is well built and could last a long time.

Wobbly
Pretty good but has some side to side wobble which can be annoying when typing. Ask someone to help with install. Doing it alone was a juggle.

Really a good product!!!
It is very sturdy. Does exactly what it is designed to do! I bought a couple of similar items but had to return because they were made of plastics! I returned them and purchased this item and I am very satisfied. Worth every pennies.
