What is the length of arm and how high can it be from desk?
    A shopper on Sep 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the lower arm is approximately 8" measuring between the center pivots, while the upper arm is around 9.5" long. The maximum height for the center of the VESA mount plate is around 16.1" above the desk surface. Hope this helps.
I have a 3/8 or 5mm glass desktop. Dare I mount my RCA 24 in TV/monitor to it with this?
    A shopper on Jul 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would not risk damaging the glass top. Depending on the position of the monitor\TV, it will put stress on the mounting point and will probably crack the glass. If the side is wood, you could rig sometime to screw directly onto the side of the desk. Or just look into a wall mount if there is a wall near by.
How thick of a desk will this clamp to? That is, how wide does the desk clamp open?
    David A on Nov 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I clamped this to a desk that was 1.5 inches thick without any problems. It is adjustable to use either a clamp mount or a feed through mount.
Is the height adjustment variable or is it a sit or stand type of adjustment? The image shows either up or down, no real in between height. I've seen some arms that it will only stay all the way up or only stays down if you push the monitor to the lowest height the arm will move to.
    Michael W on Aug 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, height adjustment is variable and can be set to any height between the maximum and minimum settings. Just set the proper counter balance for your monitor (easily adjusted by turning an adjustment screw) and you can set your screen to hover at your ideal angle and position. Thanks for checking.
Can this be mounted upside down/in the ceiling or under cabinet? If yes, would be have the same weight capacity?
    Mark Neil O on Aug 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this product is not designed to be mounted upside down and will work differently in this orientation. This is because the gas spring provides a counter balance force to gravity in the upright position (it resists gravity's downward pull). If mounted upside down, the gas spring force and gravity will both go downwards, preventing full adjustability. One alternative you could consider are the Smooth Series wall mounts for TVs (they also work with VESA monitors), which would allow you to mount the gas spring arm on a vertical surface (not the ceiling but wall-mounting could give you options). You can check out the following products to see if they might fit your needs: 21908, 21909, 21910. Thanks for checking.
How deep of a lip do you need on the back of the desk? (Single Monitor Adjustable Gas Spring Desk Mount, For Smaller Screens Up to 27")
    A shopper on Aug 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, you only need 2.5" under the desk for the clamp. If there isn't enough space, another option is to use through-hole mounting if your desk has a grommet hole for cables or if drilling a small hole is an option. Thanks for checking.

Works great very adjustable, probably more stable if bolted to the desk but not too bad even with me typing on a keyboard tray.

Very easy to set up, very practical.
I decided to purchase this arm for the MP 22" Graphics Pen Display I'd recently acquired since I don't have much table room for its stand. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that this has two types of mounting options when it comes to connecting it to the desk. There is the C-clamp style mount that is shown which allows you to clip it to the lip of the desk. There is also another mount that consists of a long bolt, a couple of plates, and a wing nut so you can either drill directly into your desk OR (what worked for me) run the bolt through the in-desk cable management hole. When I got my desk shipped to me, it came with broken hole caps, but I found that the second option for mounting the arm was a perfect solution for covering it up. Since the arm already has integrated cable management solutions, it was a no brainer. The adjustment is simple and painless, and its range is perfect for a small/medium desk. It lays the display flat when extended all the way up, and provides a great angle when pulled all the way down. I couldn't be happier with my set up.
