I don't understand why this is an Active cable. The spec says USB-C supports Displayport signals natively, right? The description reads, "Just plug the reversible USB Type-C connector into your computer's video output and connect to your DisplayPort display." What's the advantage of using an Active cable for this use case?
After not being able to connect my new laptop to my monitor through the HDMI port, trying something new with this connector was a god-send. It has worked great and the chord is thick and good quality/size.
I have struggled with my Dell monitor (U2715H) and my MacBookPro (late 2016).. I have tried 3 different cables, with and without a dock and had screen flickering or simply no input recognized. I was about to give up. This cable saved the day. Works great.
