Is it fast charging for both the usb-c and the usb slots?

BEST ANSWER: The USB-C charging doesn't max at the 100W power delivery limit but does charge most non-laptop devices at full power. The USB-A charging maxes out the spec for that type: 5V x 2.4A = 12W so it will charge as fast as it can within the spec.

No, the USB-C supports PD, which negotiates fast charging at 9V and 12V (plus the laptop modes up to 19V). USB-A is just a 5V 2.1A, which is good enough for tablets but not true fast charging.

the usb-c is super fast... but the usb (regular) is a little faster than say a simple one for your car, if that makes any sense

Since the 15” MBP will charge, though very slowly, with a 30W MacBook 29W charger, I’d have to say very probably

Will this work with the new 13" Macbook pro and would it work on 240v (Europe/Asia)? Thanks.

on Feb 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It does charge a 12" MacBook properly. I tried it with a colleague's 15" MacBook Pro and while it did charge, it was very slow. Given that the 14" MBP uses a 61W power adapter, this one is likely to charge it very slowly, so is not recommended.
Unlike the Apple adaptors, the plug is not removable, so while it will work in Europe electrically, you will need a plug adaptor.

This does work on 240v with the appropriate plug adapter, and the 13" MBP does work with the 15V/3A USB-C PD profile so it will probably work. However, I have seen this charger disconnect once the host reaches a 100% charge so you'll have to watch out to see if a MBP will stay topped off at full charge.

Are the USB-C and USB-A ports independent? On my current non-Monoprice charger, the USB-C power slows down from 18W to 10W if I plug something into the USB-A port.

BEST ANSWER: I have no way of actually testing the power coming out of the ports, but empirically, there seems to be no slow down when both ports are used. I often charge my iPad Pro at the same time as I charge my MacBook.

MacBooks have specific requirements for USBC charging and will not allow a charge with all generic chargers. Sometimes MacBooks will charge at slow rates, in other cases, MacBooks will not recognize the charge at all, and will not take any power. Will this USBC charger charge a MacBook?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, the MacBook will charge at its maximum capacity of 29W with the 39W Dual USB Wall Charger. That was a key focus for us, and is also a big advantage of offering a USB-IF certified charger.

Charges like a Champ
I use the C-port to charge my Galaxy S10 and it charges super fast. Plus I also use it to charge my Microsoft Surface with the new USB C-port and it works great. Charges everything at an incredible speed.

Compact and Portable
I like how much smaller and lightweight it is compared to the charger that came with my MacBook. It only has half the power output but it’s great on the go if I need a little boost. I usually have it docked and charged at home but keep this in the bag to. It only needs to provide supplemental power, just in case the battery gets low. Now I don’t need to worry about where I left the charger. I can keep one on the dock and one in my bag.

Great charger
I love this charger. I use it for my iPad Pro, my Nintendo Switch, and my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Charges the iPad and Switch just as fast as the stock chargers.
Pay no mind to the negative reviews that talk about how heavy and bulky it is or that it falls out of the socket. Get a better socket or use a power strip. After all, considering this charger's power and versatility, it is pretty sleek all things considered. I carry this around to replace all the other ones. Super fast charging with either the USB-C or USB-A port, I use both depending on the device. Charges at full power for each respective port while both are being used.

Faster than I expected
With USB-C, I knew that fast charging speeds were considerable, but I can now charge my Pixel 4 in 65 minutes from <10% charge to full.

Poor design overall
The unit is far too heavy, it often falls out of the outlet it is plugged into, way too big and bulky, fast charging is much slower than OEM charger, save your money.

Failed just out of warranty period (or maybe before)
This thing had been fiddly on me for a bit, but I set it aside and forgot I had it. I'm playing with some USB-PD devices right now and went to test this thing - it's all over the place. The 5V port works, but it's weak and voltage sags badly under load. The USB-c port is wildly out of spec. PD negotiation works, but 5V mode outputs 4, 9V mode outputs 7, 12V outputs 9, and 15V mode outputs 10.8. Completely useless and possibly damaging to devices.

Works as advertised.
Does what it says it does. I'm using it as an all-in-one travel charger so I like the folding AC prongs. Either USB-A or USB-C ports will charge my Macbook Pro at a speed that implies that it's getting full rated power on those ports. USB-C will quick-charge my iPhone X as well as an Apple-branded charger.
