BEST ANSWER: HI. It depends on the port on your external battery. My external batteries have female usb a ports, so I would need a usb c male to usb a male, not female. I purchased the described item to connect to a male usb a cable. I suggest you look at your battery and see what it needs.

I don't know if it's my phone or the cables I bought from Monoprice...but they fit loosely. They also aren't durable. The connector has gotten wiggly on me.
