I have many "mini DisplayPort to HDMI / DisplayPort / VGA / DVI" adapters. Will this let me use these adapters with my Touch Bar 13" MacBook Pro?

BEST ANSWER: I don't know for sure. I was kind of wondering that myself. I have an Epson projector that has VGA for input so I was going to use this and then use my old mini-port to VGA adapter. I think it should work but I haven't tried it yet because my projector is at a different office at the moment. What I can tell you is that this adapter worked fine for connecting my iMacPro USB-C to an old 24" Apple Cinema display (mini-port). No issues there so I'm assuming that the conversion from this to VGA should work too.

It should work. I mainly used the adapter to connect my 15" macbook pro (touchbar, usb-c) to an external monitor and/or an iMac (used also as an external monitor) -- worked fine. If you're trying to connect to a digital projector, you may or may not get sound. I've had varying success with this and it seems to depend on the projector rather than the adapter. That said, using an additional sound cable (just a cheap headphone cable w/ a miniplug on both ends) always worked for me.

I cannot say for certain, but my experience with a few such adapters running through adapters has not been good. I would suggest you purchase a USB C to HDMI adapter which WILL work. I know this as I have that adapter and it works well. Additionally, you could purchase a USBC dock with USB 3, ethernet, HDMI, card reader and power pass through as a more complete solution.

works with my mbp touchbar + miniDP to DP adapter, if your adapters can handle the conversion from miniDP to HDMI etc, it should work with this a macbook pro + touchbar

BEST ANSWER: Depends on which model of an apple cinema display, if its an older one which was still DisplayPort (the one which has 3 cables: power, usb, display port) then I'd say yes, but if its one of the newer ones which are thunderbolt, then you should get one of those adapters instead

No. It is a minidisplayport female connector, not thunderbolt 2. it may be same shape and fit, but functionally is meant for video display over miniDP

No it does not, it is not a Thunderbolt cable, nor does it advertise as one. They may look like the same plug, but they are very different cables.

Anyone using this with a Surface Pro 7? It doesn't seem to work for me using it along with the Monoprice 2-Port Mini DisplayPort 1.2 to DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport (MST) Hub. I was using this Hub with my Surface Pro 3, but needed the USB-C adapter for the 7.

No connection.
It doesnt work.
I took it out of its packaging and connected it to my Cinema Display. The powers there, but no image. Needless to say, I was disappointed and out of 20 bucks and change.
