Got the cable to help me study for the CCNA. Needed the connection for 2 different routers.

PROS: These guys are amazing. I ordered some Cisco cables and Velcro like ties on Tuesday and right now it's Wednesday morning 10AM and my ordered equipment is in my hand. With no upgraded shipping.



I read one of the other reviews that the Cisco DB60 Serial DCE/DTE cables sold by Monoprice would not fit the Cisco NM-8A/S because the boot is to big.

This is NOT my experience. These cables fit the NM-8A/S & NM-4A/S.



Two separate cables will fit side-by-side. I even tried bending the 1 ft. cable so both ends were plugged into the module connectors next to each other, and that worked also.

So, I'm not sure what the reviewer was referring to.



In any case I'm glad that I found this site. I had purchased Monoprice cables before but it was through Amazon.

CONS: I wish I had discovered these guys years ago.

I thought this was too good to be true when I first heard about it, and I half expected it not to work... but it worked like a charm. I was building a small lab for testing Cisco configurations and I used these cables to connect some Cisco 3640 routers to simulate WAN circuits. It works perfectly for that purpose and for a great price! I highly recommend these!

PROS: far cheaper than two separate back to back cables

CONS: a little bit short

Oevrall I am pleased and I feel comfortable when turning on the router I know it will do the job across the serial line.

PROS: Cable is well made, strong, flexible and hand screws down easy.

CONS: Maybe make it a little longer version (like 1.5 feet) as the next size offered (3 feet) is almost too long. But not a big deal.

Construction is great...Cannot fit two of these connectors on a Cisco NM-8A/S... connector boot is too large :(


PROS: Works fine on Cisco WIC-1T, Solid Construction



CONS: Does not fit all Cisco module cards
