Does this product support ARC?

BEST ANSWER: Hi Shopper,
PID 21792 does not support ARC as it is not a standard HDBaseT supported feature. Monoprice carries PID 21668 that supports HDMI 2.0 features and HDBaseT. Please feel free to reach out to our tech support team if you have any additional questions. Thanks!

No, ordered this thinking it would be supported since it is HDMI 2.0 compliant, but didn't work with my Vizio and Sony AV Receiver.

Does this product support Dolby Vision pass-through? The prior answer about HDR 10 and/or Dolby Vision is vague, and I specifically need Dolby Vision support.

BEST ANSWER: Hello Wiley, This unit supports all versions of HDR. Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10 requirements are not any different from the transmission protocol standpoint. Compliant with both HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0 you will have no issues with HDR performance.

I've just received this, I cannot get Dolby Vision to work at all, I just get a black screen. HDR works fine at 4:2:0 but not at 4:2:2, just get lots of colour banding. I have the latest DV certified HDMI cables, running over Cat 6. Anything I can do to get this working? It's the main reason I bought this as this answer said it was supported

Does the HDBaseT cable running between transmitter and receiver need to be a Cat6 or Cat6A cable to fully support 4k@60, HDR, etc.? What about Cat5e?
A shopper
on Sep 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Cat6 and Cat6A will ensure the most reliable connection and would be less susceptible to outside interference from electronics or power surges. We would recommend using the highest grade ethernet cable where ever possible.

Which IR receiver and transmitter (blaster) should be used with this unit (21792)? I've tried 27220 and 8059+8060 and neither seem to work. Is there a different IR kit that works with the 21792?

I just bought this and received in the UK. It doesn't work with Dolby Vision as confirmed in the answers to these questions but a staff member. It doesn't work correctly with Chroma 4:2:2 on Apple TV 4K as there is serious banding issues. I bought it specifically because of Dolby vision but thought 4:2:2 at least would work ok. Is there a resolution for this or a firmware update?

This are some things we will need to troubleshoot in order to give you a definite answer to your question. Here in the Monoprice Labs we are able to pass Both HDR10 and Dolby vision in our testing environment. I would highly recommend you contact our technical support team so we can walk you though the best installation practices that would help resolve the banding issue with the Apple TV 4K.

are you saying you have Dolby Vision working at 50/60Hz? Because I just get a black screen when trying DV.
What are the conditions of your testing? I have the same question, and need to ensure I'm within the parameters. My run is a new install of quality cat6, about 40ft.

BEST ANSWER: This is a generic answer for all HDBaseT products, not specifically tested with this unit, but HDBaseT usually works fine at 1080p but for a bit less distance. Commonly limited to 60 Meters at 1080p (longer for lower rates.) Hope this helps.

Is there an HDbaseT extender that supports both 4k60 HDR and USB extension?
James M
on May 19, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Another brand. Atlona AT-OME-EX-TX. AV Access model number LYSB01GYKVWC4-ELECTRNCS. Though you're only going to get 4:2:0 sampling on any hdbase-t device that is sending 4k 60fps. Or Get a separate USB over cat5 extension box. OR get a computer that supports thunderbolt 3 and run a long fiber T3 cable and that will supply everything. They're really expensive though. 164' for $500. Optical Cables by Corning.

I want to upgrade my home theater to 4K which will require upgrading my HDMI extender. My current HDMI extender is connected through a wall and ceiling to my projector with CAT5e cable. It would be costly to replace and upgrade it to CAT6 cable. I've read your response to a previous inquiry about CAT5e cable, but since the cable run to my projector is only 25 feet, do you think my existing CAT5e cable will work? I've noticed that some other 4K HDBaseT extenders are rated for CAT5e. Thanks..
