BEST ANSWER: It’s a pretty durable laminate, more like a kitchen countertop, so I don’t believe it would bubble with a little condensation or even if you accidentally spilled a drink on it. Probably not right for you if your office is an underwater laboratory, though.

Not so far (I've had this for a few weeks). It is a finger print magnet, esp since it's black, and when I leave a glass of water on it, it does dry with a water mark. But it goes away when I wipe it with a damp cloth. I would buy it again.

I have had some condensation on the desk and it has not been an issue, I do try to use a coaster though to avoid any potential problems. The surface of the desk doesn’t seem too susceptible to bubbling from what I have seen

Is the surface scratch resistant? Any laminate or acrylic type coating to protect from scratches?

BEST ANSWER: It’s pretty durable but nothing that’s laminated particle board is indestructible. We use a mouse pad and haven’t noticed any scratches from moving the keyboard or other items around on the surface. Had it since May 2020 and it’s used every day.

Thank you. One more question. Why do the instructions show the 6ft table being installed on the right side such that it is not equally supported (the middle arm is 90 degrees to the end arm. It would seem that the 6ft panel should go on the left side as you stand in the "v" shape so the top is equally supported on the arms that are set at parallel to each other, giving better support for the smaller top via the mating plates.

You are correct, that orientation is probably not the most optimal way to mount the desktop, switching the tops to provide more support for the longer top would be better. We'll update the manual to reflect it. Having said that, the tops would still be supported sufficiently by the length of the frame and the mounting plates. Thanks for the feedback.

BEST ANSWER: We only have the 5ft lengths with the contoured edge. Any solid desktop with solid mounting points should work (avoid hollow or paper core tops), you would just need to drill on your own. Our desk frames actually ship with self-drilling screws but they do take extra effort to install if holes are not pre-drilled. Hope this helps.

We do not specify a rated maximum load for these tops since that would largely depend on how the tops are mounted. Properly mounted and supported, they can take a lot of weight since they have solid engineered wood cores (no paper fill or honeycombs). These desks are designed for office or computer use so they can easily support office equipment, monitor mounts and stands, and computers. On the other hand, big overhangs or unsupported sections should be avoided since those could cause long term issues if subjected to too much weight.

Product 15525 can be mounted on the grommet holes of 33085 or 33086 and with the matching mouse pad, alternatively you could also drill a 1/4" hole on 21603 if you want the monitor mount towards the middle of the desk instead of clamped on the edge. Can items be undermounted to this desk top. For instance, a tower, under desk keyboard tray, and other accessories?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, it is possible because this desktop has a solid core throughout (unlike low-cost options that have honeycomb/hollow cores). However you need to make sure that you will be using the proper fasteners for particle board/engineered wood, and that the load will be within the specs of the fasteners for the material.

BEST ANSWER: Now that mine is Built-in in place I can confirm that this works. I have a 6' section on the left and a 5' curved section on the right. Kind of stunning when it's finished.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, the curves on the 5ft tops would prevent the return side from fitting snuggly. Also, butting the 5ft against the width of the other top might end up to be too long (you'd have a 7.5 ft length on one side). You could still make it work if you have the space and as long as you don't put too much weight on the overhangs.

The table top you asked about could work but there are a couple of things to consider. First is there are no direct mounting points, although it is easy enough to screw to the desk directly. Second is that top is heavier so it doesn't work as well for the gas lift desk with its lower load rating.

Does Monoprice sell the 5 foot tabletop without the front indentation? They have all 4 edges straight for the 4 and 6 feet tops.

Make edges smoother please

This item worked well for me for 1 year, but almost exactly 1 year after purchase the controller broke. Now the desk does not go down fully, it?s stuck about 35? off the ground. I reached out to Monoprice and did 2 hours of troubleshooting with them. This unfortunately did not fix my issue and I?m stuck with a half sitting / always standing desk.
I spoke to a supervisor who at first said they would replace the item, but then said it?s out of warranty by a few days. As a courtesy, they said if ship the desk within 30 days across the country to Monoprice they?ll send me new one. A quote from UPS said it will cost $260 to ship this item back to their facility, and this doesn?t include me having to break down the desk and pack it up. Currently, on Monoprice.com, this item currently sells for $279.99 and there is currently free shipping available. This option is not the painless operation their customer service promises on the website

Very nice tabletop for my sit stand desk.
I purchased this table top to go with my dual motor sit stand desk frame (also purchased from Monoprice). The desk is great. I like the rounded cutout at the front and the depth is perfect. Its thick enough that I had no issue attaching a dual monitor mount to it as well ... along with some ikea cable management trays I attached to the bottom.
Only gripe is that the desk is shiny ... very shiny. So when the sun comes through my office window it can magnify things quite a bit (I know, first world problems). It also shows finger prints and water rings very prominently. Those two things are very minor IMHO and I would purchase this table top again for sure.

I now love my workspace!
I highly recommend this item if you are looking for plenty of room without sacrificing sturdiness. It was strong enough when drilling the screws and it did not crack. I like the curve of the front to be able to push my chair all the way forward and still be able to use the sides. Definitely worth it and is much better than the one I got from UpLift Desk.
