Does this cable support ARC.? It appears to be a directional cable.
    A shopper on Dec 26, 2017
    BEST ANSWER: Hi User,

This cable will support ARC under certain environments. Because of the current ARC landscape there many compatibility issues that come up. That said, we are not able to guarantee ARC compatibility on all systems.

The cable is uni-directional in physical connection only, digital cables inherently talk in both directions and that is not a factor in ARC performance.

    Thank you for asking.
    What is fire rating ?
What is the difference between CMP and VW1 ?
    I don't understand.
    Thanks for your feed-back
    New User U on Feb 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: CMP: This is a cable jacket fire resistance rating defined in Article 800 of the National Electric Code. It stands for "Communications Multipurpose Cable, Plenum", which indicates that the cable is suitable for installation in a plenum space. Because air travels throughout a building via plenum spaces, it is critical that cables that are installed in such spaces not give off toxic smoke when they burn. Thus, plenum-rated cables are designed using materials that burn more cleanly and self-extinguish more easily. As the flammability requirements for Type CMP cables are stricter than Type CM and CMR cables, Type CMP cables can be used as a substitute in any area where CM and CMR would be required. Cables that are labeled "Type CMP" must pass a standardized flammability test and be certified by an accredited laboratory, such as Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

Plenum: These cables are to be used in the "plenum" area of a building, which is within a raised flooring area (such as air ducts) or wherever air circulates through the building. In order for a cable to obtain a "plenum" rating, the cable must have a fire-retardant jacket made out of a non-flammable material. Plenum cables will not emit toxic smoke if exposed to fire, and will not reignite themselves after self-extinguishing. You will typically find plenum ratings used in network, security, fire alarm and coax video cables. Also see: "CMP"

VW-1: The VW-1 rating written on a cable specifies the flammability of the outer jacket. It is a standardized test to measure how the outer jacket responds when exposed to a flame in a vertical orientation hence the abbreviation VW (vertical wire). VW-1 will be found on the jacket of the cable if it has a VW-1 rating. The term VW-1 applies to any cable going in a wall vertically.
Does this cable support HDCP 2.2?
    Frederick P on Jun 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: HDCP standards will not be held within the cables but rather within the devices in your setup (Receiver, cable box, TV, etc). the cables will not play a role in HDCP compatibility

BEST ANSWER: I would recommend using a HDbaseT kit and throw the video signal from the source over Ethernet to the far end. It is a better way of running HDMI long distances, it also gives you some future proofing where if the hdmi std changes you just have to change the kit out rather then running a new cable.
Will this fit through a 3/4 inch conduit?
    Timothy S on Apr 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It might, but i doubt it. The actual plug ends are almost 3/4 in size. Pulling an object like that, that doesn't bend thru a conduit that most likely has turns in it, is a good way to damage wire.
I never run anything smaller than 1 inch conduit, for my A/V stuff
It is always a good idea to run conduit, just in case something goes wrong with cable.
and never run it to junction boxes, use low voltage plaster rings.

Are these cable birectional or uni directional?
    A shopper on Jan 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Unidirectional. Please pay attention to the tiny labels that are attached at both ends of the cable. Also, remember that these do not provide ARC function.
Is the cable compatible with all existing sound tracks?
    New User U on Feb 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The cable will work with any of the latest surround sound scenarios. That is more dependent on your receiver's capabilities. This cable is directional. In my setup the sound comes devices connected to the receiver, but not from the TV back to the receiver. Sound for TV Apps must go through the TV speakers. I have all those same Apps on my blu-ray & Apple TV, and they perform better set up that way.

I have an office environment where HDMI is required in a Boardroom setup. The cable will need to be installed through the walls and under a concrete slab floor via a conduit to the boardroom table. The source will generally originate from a laptop/iPad etc. Will this 75' Slim Run Optical HDMI cable work well utilizing a laptop as the source with a 4k TV being used as an extended monitor for presentations etc.?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, I have have (3) of these cables installed in my basement, all 75' runs and get full 4K from each TV.

Bought after many frustrating attempts to find a 4K HDR 50ft solution
I tried several cables claiming to deliver full 4K 60Hz HDR performance, but all failed. I bought this cable to go 50ft from my hardware cabinet to my 4K HDR TV. Works perfectly! It's expensive, but worth every penny if you care about getting full functionality from your new high-end TV.

    Works well at 4k60p except.....
No ARC support....in anticipation of no ARC, I ordered a Toslink cable of the same length (75') and ran it with the SlimRun. The 2 cables together work the same as ARC. The total solution including shipping less than $200, cheaper than other fiber cable that do support ARC.

    Extended 4K HDMI cable
I needed a long HDMI cable to connect my AV equipment to a new 4K UHD TV. Existing connections were component cables. After extensive research on the internet I found Monoprice had highly rated fibre optic HDMI cables in varying lengths unto 330ft. I replaced my component cables with a 75ft AV HDR cable and we couldn't be more satisfied. It was easy to order, shipped on time and easy to instal.

    Perfect for 4K
I just upgraded my projector to 4K and had to change my almost 10 years old HDMI cable. Very happy with this one. I was concerned that with the 75 ft length I would not get 4K and HDR, but no problems there. My XBOX 1 S immediately recognized the display as 4K and HDR capable. Picture is absolutely stunning.
Very thin cable and although I know these are very fragile I pulled it through the walls with no damage (I know I took a risk there....).
Overall VERY HAPPY with my purchase.

    Excellent projector cable.
It flawlessly feeds a Sony home theater projector. My only fear during the installation was kinking (and possible ruining) the cable. It took some light abuse and came out working just fine.

    Works as advertised
75ft cable works great with 4K Blu-ray and PC. I don't have any 60Hz Blu-ray movies, but my PC puts out 60Hz at 4:4:4, and there are no issues. The thinner cable is much easier to pull through conduit than the larger cables it replaced.

    Amazing Cable!
I've tried several cables that claimed to do what this one does (4k @ 60Hz in the 4:4:4 color and HDR) and had to return all of them. Finally, this one delivered on its claim. It was twice the price of the others, but worth it since it actually works. The fiber cable is nice as well and easy to run.

I haven't used the feed on the TV much yet to see if it works well consistently, but will report back if anything changes.

    Great Cable
I was looking to replace my 40' Monoprice Premium Cable after moving to a new place. I liked the Premium cable but it was a thick cable protected by a woven exterior and was hard to bend. I have a really deep Receiver that barely fits in the professional TV Stand I bought (one of only a hand full that were deep enough to fit my receiver) so Having a cable that could plug in and bend towards the hole out the back side of the TV stand was necessary.

This cable works great transmitting a 4K HDR cable from my receiver to my 4K Projector. Love it.

    Super responsive. No delay!
Super thin cable. The only issue I had was it came a little bent. I plugged it in and it worked fine so I went ahead with the install as I was on a timeline. Used it with a PlayStation to test for delay. No delay due to cable restrictions, delay was only cause by the TV.
