Do these cables introduce any latency? I am planning on using them with a 4k splitter together with copper cables running to other displays, and I'm concerned about audio/video delays.
Richard T
on May 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'm not using a splitter but I have a 30' run from two different devises to my tv and there is no delay with either. And, I would say the picture quality is as good as when I use the built in apps on the tv. No one I talked to believed these cables would work at such a long run but so far they're great.

The cable I'm using runs directly from my AVR to my 4K television. There does not seem to be any delay at all. But keep in mind the more you process a signal even through the splitter has the chance to introduce the delay.

these cables do not introduce delays, an HDMI splitter should not either. Your display device might add a frame of delay picture/audio but your receiver or display will be able to deal with that.

Seems like most ARC questions for this cable result in ARC not compatible and/or not working. I have the 50' of this cable and ARC does not seem to recognize on my receiver and TV. TV: Sony XBR65X900F and Receiver: Sony STR-DN1040.

I'm looking to use these for in-wall installation. Are there recommended HDMI wall panels or short cables to use inline with these cables?
Michael
on Aug 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I ran mine in-wall, but go straight from source to TV. No in between cables. There are cables you could do if you wanted to terminate this cable on both ends into a single gang wall box, then use a shorter cable from the single gang box to the source and TV if you wanted.

I'm not sure. The fewer junctions in the HDMI run, the better. I do have one junction in my media cabinet with this cable running in-wall to the projector and through a plate in the ceiling.

Can the shell of the connector be removed to allow the cable to be pulled through conduit? I would of course protect the inner workings by wrapping them but I have great concern about this cable getting through the conduit going to my projector with the shell on it.

Has this cable been Premium Certified at an independent testing facility?
Steve G
on Apr 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi Steve, this cable has not been certified by any third party facilities. The cables unique construction does not fit within the normal HDMI cable construction parameters so there is no formal testing standard that has been yet developed for a cable based on performance alone. Currently HDMI.orgs testing standard requires specific construction perimeters that are strictly for passive copper based solutions. At this time UL is working on creating a standard that is strictly performance related. Monoprice plans to apply Active Copper and Fiber solutions as soon as it becomes available.

Monoprice 4K SlimRun AV High Speed HDMI Cable 330ft - AOC 18Gbps Metal Black
BEST ANSWER: Dolby Vision is still in it's infancy and it is difficult to guarantee compatibility. Dolby Vision is unique in a way that it is able to support high performance features while using the same HDMI 2.0 pipe. Rated to 18Gbps, the Slimrun AV HDR should have no problems with meeting the current posted requirements for Dolby Vision.

I live full time in an RV and I am upgrading my AVR. I need 30' of HDMI to run audio only from my Oppo 105 to my Anthem AVR, will the SlimRun HDR cable work for audio only? I am going to run the Oppo video direct into my TV. Thanks

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question.
This cable will not work between an AVR and an Oppo player.
Active cables will only work with a straight connection to the TV with nothing in between.
You would want to use a passive cable like #32991.

Good
Very flexible. The Connection head fits through a 3/4 inch hole and the cable portion is quite thin. The negatives are price obviously. Length choice was subpar, I needed 40 foot but unless you want fire rated which I didn't then I had to buy a 50 footer. Lastly this is not picking but it comes in a coil and it really takes some extra effort to straighten it out. You're dealing with a 50 foot length in a 16 foot wide room so I had to take it outside to completely lay it out flat and get the twist out.

Great cable, but it is uni-directional
The cable seems to work great getting a 4k signal accurately to my projector. My only complaint is that they should do a better job in indicating the direction the cable needs to be placed. Rather than using small font with "source" and "display", they should be color coded green and red or something more "in your face" to be sure the person routing the cable knows that they are uni-directional.

Thin, light and FAST!
I bought this 30' cable to run through conduit, up a wall, across our attic and to a projector. So far I've managed to plug it into both our Blu-Ray player and 4K Roku and into the projector. Suffice it to say it's not magical with regard to installing itself or the conduit, but the video stream it carries is amazing! ;-) It's really thin, nicely pliable (not that I've remotely pushed it) and marked for one-way traffic from the source to the display. I'm at day four so far and I'm very impressed.

Performs Flawlessly And As Advertised
Thin and lightweight - easy to connect. Source and Display clearly labeled. Roku 4K streamer immediately detected 4K and HDCP 2.2. 4K Blu-ray DVDs are also reaching the projector at full resolution. Picture quality is superb. Couldn't be happier with this cable upgrade - performs flawlessly and as advertised.

My only negative comment regards the tags used to designate the source and display ends. Hopefully in the future it will be printed on the connectors (like their RedMere cables)

Solves all your dropout problems
I have a long run between my AVR and TV with the wires buried in the wall. I've tried everything, include HDBaseT over CAT5 and still got dropouts. With this, no dropouts.
Of course, I can't run it through the wall, but the cable is so slim I was able to tuck it under the baseboard and run it through a wall outlet to get it to the AVR. Unless you know it is there you just can't see it.
