this crimper can be used to crimp cat 6 pass through RJ45 plug??

BEST ANSWER: Yes, it can crimp pass through ends. There is nothing blocking the tip of the plug, so wires can easily hang out. This crimper will not trim the excess for you automatically, so that will need to be done manually.

Yes. I have done this myself with no issue. This tool is great for small home jobs but I would choose another tool if I was an installer.

There is a chip on the blade for trimming wires so a single wire or two will not cut. Are there replacement blades available?

the larger cutting blade is 21mm x 10mm. I've found sets various places online including amazon. ex:https://a.co/d/8ojmt12

I'm new to cabling and I'm not sure how to cut the cable with this. It says it can be cut, stripped, and crimped; but I can't figure out how to cut a cable with it. ?

BEST ANSWER: The razor blade on the side is used to strip & to cut - just put the wire on the solid part under the blade and squeeze to cut the wires. It works OK, but I keep a small pair of wire nippers instead of using this tool for cutting wires unless there's nothing else available.

will this crimper work with the #7266 Cat6 plugs (which don't have the additional strand-crimping window in the middle, as the # 7245 Cat5 plugs do )? There were reviews about one of the toolkit crimpers crushing the plugs, suggesting that they are not multi-purpose dies. I can find no other crimpers here that specifically list compatibility with "Cat6" (AMP?) plugs like these.

The plastic piece that holds the module in place during crimping cracked and then broke off. This looks to be a replaceable part given the screws holding it in. I know this is an inexpensive tool but it seems a waste to throw it away for, what is likely a $1-$2 part. Can I purchase that component to repair my tool?

Nice occasional use tool
I needed to replace the end of a LAN cable and I had never done that before. I read up on how it is done and ended up purchasing this tool for the job. The tool is nicely built and performed the job needed. I can not comment on how long it would hold up under extensive use, but for the occasional user, it seems to be a good value.

Required modification to crimp properly
Initially I thought this crimper worked OK, but testing showed some connections were flaky. Turned out the crimper was not crimping sufficiently. The crimper bottoms out on the cutting blade which is not a good design. I removed the blade and now I get more force on the crimp and proper reliable connections.
Bottom line: you get what you pay for. I spent a lot of time making the crimper work properly and should have just bought a better tool.

Best $5 I've ever spent on a tool
I bought a pair of these 8 years ago for the same price. I have crimped thousands of RJ45 cat5e/6 with these and they are still working. The razor blade is dull now and they are starting to flex a little at the hinge..
Let that sink in.... THOUSANDS of crimps for 5 USD
Time flew by and I didn't even realize I had been using the same pair all this time. I'm emotionally attached to them now.
