I have the 6 zone multi-zone whole home audio kit (10761) in my home. I want to use the RCA outputs from zone 4 and zone 5 to send the line level signals to an amplifier that powers a single speaker (4100) in each of the bathrooms next to those rooms. Will this amplifier receive the two separate RCA inputs from those zones and distribute the powered signal to each of those bathroom speakers in a (stereo combined) mono signal?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, the commercial amp can be used as a stereo amp or a dual mono amp. Each channel has dual RCA inputs that will sum to mono. Zone 4 stereo RCAs plug into input 1 with dual RCAs and the same for Zone 5 to input 2.

If you are trying to combine a mono source to one pre output you would just input to say the left channel and the left pre output will be volume controlled via the touch pads. If you parallel the left and right input with the same signal you will have the same signal on both the left and righ pre outputs to go to any 2 channel amplifier you wish. Hope this helps.

I am an audio engineer and this question is confusing to me. There’s no such thing as a stereo combined mono signal.
You have two rooms ( zone 4 and zone 5) you want the line level (pre amp) output to go to a separate powered speaker in the bathrooms? Which amplifier are you asking about? The 6 zone or single amp powering the bathroom speakers?

I use a Yamaha surround receiver and the speakers are awesome. There is also a great video on You Tube about these speakers which I believe uses an amp

I want to hook up a Sonos Connect to this as the input and output as mono, with each channel going to a separate monoprice 8 speaker selector in order to power a total of 13 speakers that are playing in mono. Would it work like this? Would it have enough power to act as background music?

I have 5 mono speakers and one pair of speakers, which work OK. At times it will come in, then out, then in in 5-10 second periods. Quite annoying. I doubt it would work for what you are suggesting.
PS - The fan is a bit loud too.

Easy question. I want a 1. Small, 2. High Quality amp (don't need a receiver) that I can plug my ipod (mini phono to rca cables)into and play loud on 8ohm Klipsch outdoor speakers. Is this the right amp or do I need the next model up? I am using #12 stranded wire with a 15 foot run.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, as long as the impedance of each pair of speakers does not drop below 4Ω. For typical 8Ω speakers, wiring two in parallel will result in 4Ω, which is just fine. For best results, each pair of speakers should be the same model so that they are equally loud.

What is the purpose of having two RCA jacks on each channel? Are they wired to allow passive mixing of two sources into a given channel? Or are they paralleled to allow loop-through types of setups?

BEST ANSWER: The RCA Inputs are summed mono to their respective channels. This allows stereo inputs to not loose half their signal when used as a dual mono zone system. If you want to get creative with devise volume controls you could plug two mono RCA in to the Red/White inputs and get three channel per zone.

I'm trying to figure out if i use a tablet for music into the RCA inputs of the right channel and set the switch to mono, will i get a mono signal out of just the "right" stereo output, or a mono signal out of both "left" and "right" stereo outputs?
I'd like to have one RCA input provide a mono signal to the left and to the right stereo output for two separate rooms.

Good value amp
Decent app and a good value. 3 stars because the fan does not turn off and it is pretty noisy!
