Is this a pair?
New User U
on Sep 5, 2022
BEST ANSWER: I don't believe that it is a pair. They are showing you the two ends of one cable; plus, it doesn't say "pair" in the description. You would need to purchase one of these for each channel, two of these for stereo, three of these for three channels, etc.

Yes, you get two cables. One for the right channel and one for the left channel

No, it is a single cable. The title states “cable”, not cables.

I read that these cables are shielded but to what degree? Single, double? What type of shielding is used?

BEST ANSWER: The Stage Right and Monoprice cables both use a single heavy braided shield. These Stage Right models use the more popular and easy to fix connector heads.

I have not needed to take them apart to be truthful. The outer jacket is quite flexible and the inner conductors are supposedly 20 ga. which makes a great combination for ruggedness and reliability. Honestly, I have been using these cables for several years with only two of them ever having a problem. Those had an internal break about a third of the length (30 ft.) which is more than likely due to a truck running over them (or a fully loaded equipment cart). Just outta curiosity, I just now took one end apart. The shield IS stranded which points to a woven shield rather than a foil one. It doesn't appear to be more than one layer. I don't remember ever coming across double layer shielding in the past 50 years including working in Aerospace. If there are, they would be quite a bit stiffer than these cables.

I have a pair of these as backup to the monoprice branded cables. I was a bit perplexed as to why there is a Stage Right and Monoprice brand. Thought they were one and the same. Anywho, to the question at hand. Cables seem solidly built and have used running alongside power cables, dmx cables, drivelines, mic cables etc and knock on wood have been flawless. IMHO they are well shielded. Haven't opened to confirm what they use.

I’m not an engineer so I couldn’t help with the degree nor have I torn one apart to check the internal build quality. I do know the work well for our production company and haven’t had any issues as of this point.

Are these good connections for SUBWOOFERs?

BEST ANSWER: These can be used to connect a subwoofer if your audio/video receiver or processor has a balanced XLR subwoofer output. XLR cables are also known as "mic" or microphone cables.

Great cable, connectors are solid but also a bit longer than other cables. Not much of an issue just need to be mindful of sub placement and stereo receiver

What is the difference between this XLR "microphone cable" and any similar XLR (M/F) cable designed to be used to connect a passive mixer to active speakers? Are they one and the same or different?

High Quality Cables at a very reasonable price
These are very good high quality cables. I am a professional Musician, Producer and Recording Engineer. I have been using Monoprice cables for years. The 16AWG cable that Monoprice uses are dependable and reproduce sound at a high quality level. If that's not enough, the price for these cables is very reasonable.

The right cable @ the right price!
The quality of design and materials appears to be first class. I will be using these on a regular basis?.. I have bought other cables before and have been very happy with their performance and durability. Hopefully,
these, two / too will be as reliable and in applications. Thanks !

A very sturdy and secure xlr cable. The cable is nice and thick it doesnt feel flimsy. Great for every day use. I should have gotten a longer cable myself but if ya dont need a very long cable this will do ya great.
