I'm looking for a 6 foot XLR cable to get from my mic in a boom to my audio interface. Should I get the 24AWG Starquad or the 16AWG Stage Right?

Stage Right by Monoprice 6ft XLR Male to XLR Female 16AWG Cable (Gold Plated) [Microphone & Interconnect]
Stage Right by Monoprice STARQUAD XLR Microphone Cable, Optimized for Analog Audio - Gold Contacts, XLR-M to XLR-F, 24AWG, 6FT, Black
BEST ANSWER: Both are great cables, the 24 AWG Starquad will be a more pliable cable and some people say the lighter gauge sounds better for microphone cable. I like the 16 AWG for XLR connections between gear, audio interface to monitors, etc. and for a microphone cable on a boom I would recommend a 10’ cable over 6’. Cheers.

I am sold on Star Quad Cable. From watching vid on Star Quad - "Star-quad microphone cable demonstration" on video demo.
I like thicker AWG (lower number is thicker wire), if you can get it. But I would go with the Star Quad over the better gauge difference on these, which is what I plan for the future.

I have the 16AWG only and they are fine. I don't have any experience with the 24AWG. I typically go with a heavier gauge wire. I will buy more of these if I need more.

I'd go with 24AWG (without the full detail of your microphone and audio interface)

BEST ANSWER: They are shielded and truly amazing quality. Replaced all my Monster/Mogami cables with these and notice absolutely no difference in build or sound quality.

Is this a pair or one channel?

BEST ANSWER: One channel. You will need two for stereo. I am using them to connect my receiver to a separate power amp and they work great.

one cable, not a pair, one channel. The photo shows both ends of the same cable.

Stage Right XLR
High quality metal connectors attached to what looks like thick, great shielding. Cable is thick and the conductors are reported to be 16 GA which is rare and I really like. My new favorite XLR for home theatre.

JUNK! Terrible RFI/EMI Interferace. AVOID Monoprice XLR cables
Normally I like Monoprice cables. Read a couple bad reviews on this cable and I should have listened to them. I have the XLR cable a good distance away from other electronic cords. I have a low RFI/EMI environment. 3 feet away of my computer. When I move the cord next to my computer case buzzing gets extremely loud. When away from the case and other items buzzing goes quieter but doesn't completely go away. THis cable has zero EMI/RFI shielding. I contacted Monoprice and they would only exchange it. Amazon would only return my cable. No offer for an upgrade to a cable that doesn't suck. Swapped to a much longer off brand cable and buzzing went away. Returning. Will not purchase Monoprice audio cables again. Using with a Rode Procaster XLR + Elgato Wave XLR. JUNK!
