Will this work for a 50 to 55inch Samsung that I want to put in the corner of my room?
A shopper
on Apr 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have installed this in a corner with a 60-inch Samsung TV. The main thing is to make sure the anchor plates are at least 6-inches out from the corner and bolted to a stud. that should give you sufficient mobility and room to for the TV. Once installed make sure to tighten down the bolts a bit on the arms to reduce the potential for wobble.

I an another consumer that bought this product. I'm sure it will work. The mounting brackets are interchangeable to work with many sized tvs. I have this in the corner of my room with a 40" and there is plenty of room for a larger tv. It may not work with 70", but 55" should work fine.

Would I be able to swivel the TV right to left?
Tsippi S
on Dec 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. The mount has a fairly long extension away from the wall. I used with a 65 " curved display and still had some play with swivel. Basically if the extension arms exceed half the width of your TV then you should get full swivel capabilities and since your in a corner that's 90 degrees.

Yes, Depending on your surroundings and how you mount the brackets to the wall you should be able to swivel the TV any direction. Where the TV physically mounts is a moving part and so are the arms. Hope this helps!

I think just the mount (less your tv) is something like 5” completely flat. The telescoping arms fold in tight, but it’s no flat wall mount.

Disclaimer - I have no experience with this wall mount. Caveat - I have installed over 100 wall mounts of all sorts and sizes (corner mounts included) and have some ideas.
You could use this mount for an "inverted corner" but would need to have good answers for the following questions:
1. Can the wall plates attach close enough to the corner to allow he TV an acceptable range of motion? (You will have to decide what is acceptable)
2. Will the TV be in a public space? (If so you will need to comply with the appropriate ADA guidelines)
2. Is the panel too heavy to be supported by (at best) one stud on one side and toggle bolts on annother?
3. Do you have an idea on how handle power cords (and cables if applicable)?
One way to use this mount on an "inverted corner" is to use two-four mounting points (deck screws {with washers} of appropriate length and diameter and/or toggle bolts) on each wall plate using different slots for each wall plate. Note that the closer to the corner the length of the fastener needs to be shorter.
Caveat II - I would not use this method with TVs weighing more than 50lbs or so. If there is even the slightest chance of a rambunctious kid using the swing arms for chin-ups then I would abandon the idea altogether and go with something like Monoprice Product # 10467 mounted as close to the corner as you can get it. Good luck if you decide to

How close to the wall will this go on flat wall?
A shopper
on Jul 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have mine mounted on a corner, but measuring from the actual TV to the furthest part of the support, you'd be at least 6 inches out from the wall. This might not be your best choice, as the further you extend it out, the more weight is "levering" on your mounting bolts. I'm sure you can find a mount that fits more flush to a flat wall, unless you consider doing a corner mount, in which case, this works great.

I live in a house where the studs are not on 16" centers, but much further apart - approx. 22". Could this mount simply be mounted flat against a regular wall, but wider? Most wall mount plates do not account for studs not on 16" centers, so this seems ideal, but I am worried about the strength of the mount if the two separated plates are placed further apart.

So what's the biggest screen size it will accommodate?
A shopper
on Feb 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi Shopper, thank you for reaching out to us. The deciding factor on the size of the display comes down to the shape of the corner and the overall width of the display being mounted. Based on our guidelines, we were able to conclude that the mount would fix most 63" displays when installed into a 90º corner. Some 70" displays for example may have a larger screen size but smaller overall width and would work with this mount. Beyond the 63" size it would be the customers responsibility to measure and verify that it will work for their specific corner and display. Thank you.

BEST ANSWER: To determine compatibility with a TV mount to your TV, please determine the VESA mounting pattern on the back of your TV. It is the 4 screw hole square formation on the back and it is usually listed on the TV specs or you can find out by measuring it yourself(measured in millimeters). You would want to be sure that the VESA of the TV is between 100x100 to 800x400 and also that the weight of the TV is not heavier than 132lbs. However, the mount is fairly large so it would likely be able to be seen sticking out from the back of the TV. I hope this helps, thank you!

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question.
As long as they would have a similar thickness to 2x4 wall studs it should support this mount.

I have a flush mounted electrical outlet above my fireplace. It's 7.25" tall and 5" wide.
1. Can this mount be used for a flat wall and not a corner?
2. Can this be used to mount into concrete block?
3. Would the 2 contact plates be far enough apart to straddle the electrical outlet?

Better than expected
Based on previous reviews I was hesitant to purchase but I am glad I did. The unit itself came perfect and has held up very well for months now. Was not hard to put on the wall diagonally for our 65" TV. The length of time to ship and communication between can be a little worrisome but at least it shipped so I am happy!

Great Mount
Great mount, as expected. Very heavy duty, but also makes install a little difficult. Overall, great and would buy again

Worked for the corner install, but was difficult to get level even with two people due to it being twisted.

Mounted fine into two studs in a corner. Decent construction for 48? TV. Hard to adjust level since all screws were tightened down and instructions weren?t detailed. I loosened five bolts on back of mounting plate with 10mm socket and open wrench to find level, then retightened all.

Built like a tank
Unlike single-arm mounts, there is no sag in the frame. Solidly built like all the mounts I have bought from Monoprice.
