Does it allow the monitor to be tilted?
A shopper
on May 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. It has full rotation / adjustment. Check the desk mounting clearance. I had to perform the "in field" modification of my employer's desk because there were other things underneath. Once the install was done, it's really nice. I plan to order another one for my home desk -- the price is right!

Do the arms on this mount "nest" above each other? Meaning, do they go flat above each other? One to the left, the one above it to the right so the monitor is back against the pole? The one I have now only bends at 90° angles ( http://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=113&cp_id=11326&cs_id=1082808&p_id=16245&seq=1&format=2 ) I need it to go all the way back to the pole mount.

Monoprice High Quality Adjustable Tilting Desk Mount Bracket for LCD LED (Max 17.5 lbs., 15~22in), Black
BEST ANSWER: The arms do not nest, but if the pole is positioned properly, the monitor will go flat to the wall. I put the support pole to the side of the monitor, to allow it to go flat. I am using 27" monitors, and the mount supports the weight, and adjusts quite well. With my configuration, the poles are hidden behind other monitors.

This one is not limited to 90 degree bends; one arm can be on top of the other. Still, if I had it to do over again, I'd go for something higher in quality--which I believe Monoprice now has. This is decent, but not so much if you intend to move it frequently.

Monoprice Essential Single Monitor Articulating Arm Desk Mount

Monoprice Sit Stand Height Adjustable Desk 42
BEST ANSWER: I use the monitor arm attached to my desktop, which it works great. If you are looking to utilize the arm in that manner, it should work fine. Yes, it will work just fine. You'll have plenty of room to mount the clamp onto the top panel of your desk. This thing is fabulous, sturdy and takes no more than 4"Sq. from your desk surface for the mounting clamp. Enjoy, Henk.

The desk clamp can be set at three different gap settings. While it's designed to open a maximum of 100mm (just under 4"), realistically you're looking at about 90mm (about 3.6") in most applications.

BEST ANSWER: It really depends on the size of your cable management system. The small, circular holes will be much too small for this. Some of the larger ones, with oval-shaped holes, might work if you removed the edge guard. Since the base plate is so wide, I'd say stick with using the desktop in most applications, and just place it near the desired cable management hole.

Thanks, Ryan, for the answer. I don't think I described it right. There's a hole in the top of my desk, near the back, that's intended for keyboard, mouse, monitor cables to pass through and connect to the tower under the desk. I had seen a different one of these online that stated it could be installed in said hole. I have a hutch and back on my desk so there's no place to clamp it to the back edge.
I want to stick with Monoprice is why I was asking.
Thanks again for the answer, though!

Thanks! Do you suggest screwing the piece of 2x4 to the underside of the desk's lip, with the 2x4 laying flat--or just letting the clamp hold the whole thing together? Also, is 2x4 better than 2x3?
Don't screw it into the desk; the clamp will hold it in place.
If you have a 2x3 that's probably better, but it's not vital.

The mounting bracket can be removed completely for this adjustment, but this product is not designed and was not tested for mounting to a wall. Can this be mounted to a glass topped desk that has a metal support beam underneath the glass?
New User U
on Nov 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, some customers have shared that they have done this but it would be better to consult the glass top manufacturer to be sure. I would not recommend mounting this directly on glass though because this monitor mount might exert some localized pressure on some spots of the clamping area, especially if the arm is at full extension and the monitor is heavy or some force is applied to it. A possible work around is to insert some flat wood pieces that could spread the pressure, but even then a lot would depend on how thick and durable the glass material is, so best to consult with the glass supplier. Hope this helps.

Good for price!
Despite the weight claim I feel like it's lower number as my monitor is within the range but sometimes seems to sag a little

Good for the price
Good for the price but is lacking some adjustments. The arm cannot raise high enough to rotate a 27 inch screen portrait mode.

Nice mount arm used to attach laptop plate and raise computer off desk
Works great. Bought to mount child's distance learning notebook setup on his small desk to give him table top access (paper, workbook tasks) while in his video calls with class.
