Warm & Rich Sound | Simply Attractive | Bluetooth Convenience
15-Watt Compact Stereo Hybrid Tube Amp
Sound Quality: Life is too short for audio products that don't sound great! We believe that the whole point of listening to music is to hear it as the artist intended. Our engineers and audio experts have spent countless hours listening to and comparing various amplifiers until we were satisfied we had found models that fit our demanding standards.
Style: The polished piano black case, brushed aluminum face, and the warm glow of the exposed tubes combine to give this amp a sexy appearance that is at once both classic and futuristic.
Versatile: Enjoy your music the way you want! Use the stereo RCA jacks to connect directly to a CD player or use the Bluetooth® v4.0 radio to connect wirelessly with your phone. The Qualcomm® aptX™ audio codec ensures that your wireless streaming sounds as clean and clear as your wired connections.
Bluetooth audio for grownups. Listen to music like you care about it.
Because of its lossy nature, digital music can often lose some of the depth and warmth that gives it life. Wireless streaming adds an additional layer of digital compression, which can further degrade the audio quality. The addition of the tube preamplifier stage adds back some of the warmth and richness, breathing new life into your digital music, while the Qualcomm® aptX™ audio codec ensures clean and clear Bluetooth® streaming.

Questions and Answers
In everyday use there is no hum to hear.
This is a superb amp with great sound detail.
At the price nothing comes close.
I have many thousands of dollars worth of audio equipment but am still enjoying this immensely. I have spent far more on a bottle of wine and the joys thereof dissipated quickly. This will likely be around for a long time. If you are on the fence here, go for it. I doubt you will be disappointed. And for goodness sake, don't stress out for the rest of your life wondering if you should have "gone bigger". Use the savings to buy a nice bottle of wine (actually, a few given the price difference) and listen to some 60s jazz (maybe some Bill Evans or Miles) while you drink it.

He called and went on for ever talking about how amazing his old guy music sounds through the tubes.
I got the 50W for me. :)
Physical: It's a bit larger than expected — about the size of, say, a shoe box. When looking at pictures of it, I have been so used to looking at the tiny T-Amps that I had envisioned it a bit smaller. It's not so large that it's cumbersome, but if your space is tight, make sure you pay attention to the measurements. Otherwise, its heft and build quality are impressive for the price (I got mine on sale for $79).
Power: At 15W, this one is "just enough", but not "plenty"... If price and space were no object, I'd suggest going for the 50W version so that you'll have no question of: "should I have gone for the larger one?" ... with this one, you'll likely have that question and be playing it between 8 and 10 most of the time.
Connectivity: The bluetooth is working flawlessly as is the wired connection and the switch is anachronistic, but bullet-proof. The speaker binding posts are 5-way style that accommodate banana plugs, so check out the braided wires here on MP (note: they're sold as individual pairs (red/black) -- a pair for each speaker, so get two pairs).
Operation: When turning on the amp, there is a characteristic, throw-back "whomp>buzz>hum>sizzle" that players of Fallout-3 players will recognize from the intro scene, but that settles down nearly immediately. After that, it operates just like any other amp. Press play and boogie (or, in the case of this one, wiggle in your office chair) while the tubes let out that nice amber glow.
I have mine hooked to the MP back-ported 4in desktop speakers (not the "vintage" ones) and it sounds great... I've hooked this up to a pair of $200 orb speakers and $50 orb "knock offs" and they all sound good. The back ports in a desk-against-wall set-up always sounds a bit sloppy, so something front-ported or sealed might be best. The limited power and rubbery sound of the tubes might work best with a small sealed enclosure anyway (like the orbs). Larger, especially ported. speakers might need the power of the 50W amp, but a driver under 6.5in should be fine... 3-4in might be best.
Sound: The sound is indeed a bit "warmer" and elastic than many modern desktop amps... not like a tube power amplifier (these tubes are pre-amp side, if I'm not mistaken), but again at 15W and under $100... I mean: wow! ... what a combination. It sounds good and looks cool while doing it.
Shipping: I had this shipped via MP-next day which is a direct-channel shipping arrangement. In my area, it's with Golden State and the driver/delivery stream has been great. If you have the opportunity, I'd suggest exploring that option to compare/contrast with the typical UPS/FedEx as lately the price/value/care ratio has been slipping with both.
Packing: It is shipped encased in closed-cell foam and the shelf box (corrugated cardboard) is dropped in another corrugated shipping box. Much better than your typical Amazon fulfillment. If something happens to this en-route, you'd have to question the integrity of the carrier.
I do wish I had bought the slightly more powerful version but this
works perfect for my office.

Oh also, like others have said, this thing is pretty big. I'd say bigger than a shoebox. At least taller.
Bottomline: if it's on sale, and it ships for free, AND you get a good one, it might be worth it, but if you want to experience a real tube amp, this isn't it. Pay a little more and get a nicer one from somewhere else.
