    Sound Quality
    Sound Quality

Sound Quality: Life is too short for audio products that don't sound great! We believe that the whole point of listening to music is to hear it as the artist intended. Our engineers and audio experts have spent countless hours listening to and comparing various amplifiers until we were satisfied we had found models that fit our demanding standards.

Style: The polished piano black case, brushed aluminum face, and the warm glow of the exposed tubes combine to give this amp a sexy appearance that is at once both classic and futuristic.

Versatile: Enjoy your music the way you want! Use the stereo RCA jacks to connect directly to a CD player or use the Bluetooth® v4.0 radio to connect wirelessly with your phone. The Qualcomm® aptX™ audio codec ensures that your wireless streaming sounds as clean and clear as your wired connections.

Bluetooth audio for grownups. Listen to music like you care about it.

Compact Stereo Hybrid 15−Watt Tube Amp with Bluetooth

Because of its lossy nature, digital music can often lose some of the depth and warmth that gives it life. Wireless streaming adds an additional layer of digital compression, which can further degrade the audio quality. The addition of the tube preamplifier stage adds back some of the warmth and richness, breathing new life into your digital music, while the Qualcomm® aptX™ audio codec ensures clean and clear Bluetooth® streaming.

Are the 6N2 dual-triode tubes used as a driver stage for solid state finals, one tube for each channel?
    A shopper on Jan 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Indeed that is how this amp works. From a cold start, mine has the left channel produce audio slightly quicker than the right channel - so I know the tubes truly are in the audio path and are separate.
My turntable has a built in pre amp. Can I connect that to the Line Input?
    Stuart S on Nov 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, if the turntable has a Line Level output. Enjoy
Is the bluetooth in this amp A2DP compatable?
    New User U on Dec 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hello, this item is indeed A2DP compatible. Thank you for your question and I hope this helps!
Is this A2DP compatible? Want to use it with an Amazon Echo Dot.
    A shopper on Dec 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes! That's exactly how I'm using it and it's a KILLER setup!
Does it hum through the speakers when no source is playing?
    A shopper on Apr 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Turn up the volume with no source and you might hear a tiny bit of hum.
In everyday use there is no hum to hear.
This is a superb amp with great sound detail.
At the price nothing comes close.
Can I use it as a preamp for a turntable that doesn't have a built-in phono preamp?
    A shopper on Mar 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: no. get a proper phono pre-amp.
Can I use this tube amp with a 200 W per channel speaker or is it too much of a wattage mismatch to drive the 200 W speakers. Granted, I can at best get ONLY 15W per channel out of the 200W speaker but is the 15W amp enough to drive the 200W speaker?
    New User U on May 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: 200W speakers should not be subjected to power in excess of 200W. Less power is fine. However, your speakers may have a minimum recommended wattage. The "efficiency" of your speaker is what is important when you are driving them with only 15 W. I have used this amp with a few fairly efficient speakers (around 89 dB) and think it sounds pretty nice. I've also used it with some outdoor speakers (around 85 dB) and the volume is somewhat lacking there (although perfectly fine since I want "background" music in that setting anyway.) Personally, I think this little amp is more about quality of sound than quantity of sound. If your goal is to make a lot of noise, I'd not buy this.
    how about headphones?
    A shopper on May 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: There is no headphone jack. This is simply meant to drive and play sounds through speakers. Sounds rather good.
Can this be used to connect to more than 2 speakers?
    A shopper on May 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, this won't have the power to run more than one pair of speakers. Also, you get much better volume with a line-in connection than you will with Bluetooth. This is a fun little amp, but it does not have much power.
Can I use it as a preamp?
    A shopper on Mar 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No it does not have pre-outs. Only one input, the Bluetooth and put, and speaker outputs. It does sound fantastic though, and plenty of power for a small room like an office. It's really a bargain at that price
How can I hook a sub woofer to this Tube amp ?
    A shopper on Jun 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Subs with plate amps may accept speaker level inputs or line level. The speaker level inputs are meant to be in parallel with your main speakers and low-pass the sub frequencies to the sub, while driving your mains full range.
Is there a way to remove the tube cage?
    A shopper on May 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank for your interest in our tube amp. We do not recommend removing the cage from the tube amp. Tubes can be replaced with the cages on. If you do need to take the cage off you can do this by unscrewing the vertical braces. Tha balls on the top ring are the screw heads. These are long screws that extend to the amp base. Rings and spacers are all separate pieces so be careful when removing and re-assembling.
Why do these not have a remote???
    A shopper on Mar 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your interest in this tube amp. Traditional Tube amp are from the time before remotes. The analog circuitry is based on these classic designs. We also wanted to hit specific price points.
Can you bridge the output into a single 8-ohm load?
    James C on Jan 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The hybrid stereo tube amps are not bridgeable.

Excellent Little Amp For Very Little Money
I am currently using this amp in my office (approximately 175 square feet with standard height ceiling). Primary source is computer (via a small inexpensive USB DAC rather than 1/8" jack from soundcard) and speakers are B&W P6 (which retailed for $1800 and are thus likely not what would typically be paired with this cheap little amp). I sometimes also use the BT input with my S7 edge and I also tried it with one of my many turntables (need a phono amp for this) and it sounded pretty nice. Overall, I am quite stunned at just how good this little guy sounds and there is plenty of volume for listening in this setting. (I have also used the 50W version of this amp in the same system and did not find it appreciably better. I don't use "tone controls" so didn't miss them vis a vis the bigger amp and the lack of VU meter is probably a plus). The only complaint I have is that the power indicator lamp is FAR too bright. I might open it up and unplug it.. After all, you can tell when the amp is on by the glow of the tubes. You don't need no stinkin' indicator light.

I have many thousands of dollars worth of audio equipment but am still enjoying this immensely. I have spent far more on a bottle of wine and the joys thereof dissipated quickly. This will likely be around for a long time. If you are on the fence here, go for it. I doubt you will be disappointed. And for goodness sake, don't stress out for the rest of your life wondering if you should have "gone bigger". Use the savings to buy a nice bottle of wine (actually, a few given the price difference) and listen to some 60s jazz (maybe some Bill Evans or Miles) while you drink it.

    The Perfect Gift
I've been stressing over a gift for my dad. I remembered him always talking about how much better music use to be. I saw these tube amps and had to get him one.
He called and went on for ever talking about how amazing his old guy music sounds through the tubes.
    I got the 50W for me. :)

    Outstanding (+ larger than anticipated)
Overview: This is an outstanding amp, especially considering the price. Even at full price it's a bargain, but when it's on sale, it is even more so. It doesn't have a ton of power and would be best suited for an office or a single room (it's not going to fire up a party, but is plenty loud to get an office-mate cranky).

Physical: It's a bit larger than expected — about the size of, say, a shoe box. When looking at pictures of it, I have been so used to looking at the tiny T-Amps that I had envisioned it a bit smaller. It's not so large that it's cumbersome, but if your space is tight, make sure you pay attention to the measurements. Otherwise, its heft and build quality are impressive for the price (I got mine on sale for $79).

Power: At 15W, this one is "just enough", but not "plenty"... If price and space were no object, I'd suggest going for the 50W version so that you'll have no question of: "should I have gone for the larger one?" ... with this one, you'll likely have that question and be playing it between 8 and 10 most of the time.

Connectivity: The bluetooth is working flawlessly as is the wired connection and the switch is anachronistic, but bullet-proof. The speaker binding posts are 5-way style that accommodate banana plugs, so check out the braided wires here on MP (note: they're sold as individual pairs (red/black) -- a pair for each speaker, so get two pairs).

Operation: When turning on the amp, there is a characteristic, throw-back "whomp>buzz>hum>sizzle" that players of Fallout-3 players will recognize from the intro scene, but that settles down nearly immediately. After that, it operates just like any other amp. Press play and boogie (or, in the case of this one, wiggle in your office chair) while the tubes let out that nice amber glow.

I have mine hooked to the MP back-ported 4in desktop speakers (not the "vintage" ones) and it sounds great... I've hooked this up to a pair of $200 orb speakers and $50 orb "knock offs" and they all sound good. The back ports in a desk-against-wall set-up always sounds a bit sloppy, so something front-ported or sealed might be best. The limited power and rubbery sound of the tubes might work best with a small sealed enclosure anyway (like the orbs). Larger, especially ported. speakers might need the power of the 50W amp, but a driver under 6.5in should be fine... 3-4in might be best.

Sound: The sound is indeed a bit "warmer" and elastic than many modern desktop amps... not like a tube power amplifier (these tubes are pre-amp side, if I'm not mistaken), but again at 15W and under $100... I mean: wow! ... what a combination. It sounds good and looks cool while doing it.

Shipping: I had this shipped via MP-next day which is a direct-channel shipping arrangement. In my area, it's with Golden State and the driver/delivery stream has been great. If you have the opportunity, I'd suggest exploring that option to compare/contrast with the typical UPS/FedEx as lately the price/value/care ratio has been slipping with both.

Packing: It is shipped encased in closed-cell foam and the shelf box (corrugated cardboard) is dropped in another corrugated shipping box. Much better than your typical Amazon fulfillment. If something happens to this en-route, you'd have to question the integrity of the carrier.

    Hard to Believe
I'm using this 15 watt amp to play CD's in my garage/workshop. I'm stunned at it's build quality and sound, especially considering it's price. I've been using it less than 2 months, so it's reliability is untested, but it appears to be fairly robust. My main stereo has $4000 worth of tube components, but this little tube integrated amp is truly remarkable.

Bad BT connectivity, sound was meh.
I returned ours. Upon receiving there was an audible hum in the left channel. It happens. Not a big deal. We continued testing it while we waited for the RMA for an exchange. The sound was nice. But nothing to write home about. It was warm as they say, but it lacked any body, it was pretty flat and boring compared to my $25 Lepai 2024A+, even after leaving it on for days to "warm up". The clincher was the Bluetooth though. I knew we would be using this feature often since this was to live in the living room and it was just a huge pain to connect. even to one device. The amp would need to be reset (i.e. plugged and unplugged) for it to establish a connection. Simply flipping the switch or powering it on and off didn't do anything. It would only give you the audible Bluetooth prompts if you unplugged and plugged it back into the wall. And for multiple devices, forget it. It only worked if you went through and deleted it from all the other devices you've connected it to before. It just wasn't worth it. We decided to get another Lepy and sent this piece of junk back.

Oh also, like others have said, this thing is pretty big. I'd say bigger than a shoebox. At least taller.

Bottomline: if it's on sale, and it ships for free, AND you get a good one, it might be worth it, but if you want to experience a real tube amp, this isn't it. Pay a little more and get a nicer one from somewhere else.

    great buy
I bought the amp to use with my laptop at work. I have a diy sabre dac hooked to the inputs of the amp and a pair of infinity primus 150 speakers. Nice, mellow sound, good bass and clear highs and more than enough volume for an office environment. It is more than I was expecting for the price. It's a good solid unit and looks great on my desk. I would recommend this amp to anyone wanting to put together a low cost system for moderate listening volume.

    So Far So Good
Arrived on time and in good condition. Hooked it up and it works exactly as advertised. Old fashioned audiofan (not audiophile) here - so this was, amazingly, the first time I tried bluetooth technology and it worked quickly and easily. Putting aside the mp3 source I hooked it up to a good single cd player and played a few of my test tracks through some decent B&W speakers. Although underpowered (these B&W's are relatively inefficient) it produced excellent sound at comfortable near-field listening volumes. Recommended.

Great inexpensive building block for home or desktop audio.
The warm sound of tubes for the rest of us. Non-fatiguing listening. Build quality remarkable at the price.

    Perfect for my office
This is the perfect size and wattage for my office - it wouldn't be able to hold its weight in a larger room, so if you have a living room or den you might want to move up to the 25 or 50 watt models. Nice warm tone, sounds great coming through my KEF Q100s. I turned a lot of heads with this thing; it is very sharp-looking in person. Bluetooth works flawlessly. My 4 year old laptop didn't have bluetooth, but I picked up a $5 USB dongle and now I'm in business.
