Does this surge protector have the holes on its back so it can be mounted on the wall?
Thomas B
on Dec 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes it does, it has 4 of them on it, the top of the mounting will be the cable to the wall side. These do not come with mounting nails though. Note, these have the rounded hole with the slip so you can slip the protector over to secure it better. Hope this helps! (PS I love mine and will be ordering more).

yes, there are four of them. Two at the cord end and two at the other end. Keyhole shape. Looks like it can accept up to a 6-32 sheet metal screw, or equivalent.

It’s been almost a year since I purchased this product, but I don’t believe the plug was flat. I believe it stuck away from the wall like any other cord

I don't think so, but I have not had any problems with interference using this. Used to protect my mixer board, wireless mics, and a computer. No problems.

I see the product pictured with some cords strung under the bottom piece. Is that removable or swivel? I can't seem to get mine to open. Afraid to break it by forcing it.

BEST ANSWER: If by bottom piece, you mean the cable management at the far end of the strip, it is hinged and a takes a bit of force to open in my experience. But I was able to open it (and close it again) without damaging it.

Thanks. I had same question. OK, with power button at top and cable management at bottom, hinges on left so pull firmly on right side toward you.

After several power surges when the MOV's stop protecting, does this shut off the power to the equipment or keep supplying power as a power strip? Thanks.

If the grounded light is on and red, does that mean that the outlet is grounded? Some of my outlets the light is on, others it is not.

Has anyone tested this to see if the joule rating is accurate? I understand the surge protection industry is rife with false claims -- even with "reputable" brands. And, a higher price isn't telling.

Feels like quality
I purchased another surge protector strip before this one. It was lightweight and didn't have the features of this one. I wanted a respectable joule rating and an printed clamping voltage. This one fit the bill, and the weight told me that it had MOVs to resist a voltage spike.
The test will be if it protects against an actual surge. While I hope that never happens, I think the Monoprice 10 is up to the task.

Great
It is important that I have plenty of "J`S" in my power strip. The guitar amplifier head and the audio effect units are very expensive. Some of which are no longer made & are not able to be replaced.-I have 6 Monoprice power strip units. I will not use anything but Monoprice, in this or many other situations. I can not afford to buy some of the "Name or common use name brands. It is almost a joke. There is a very popular company that sells power strips. They also make very expensive musical gear. I have just one example. This company sells keyboards that run from 10,000 U,S, dollars on up. The same company sells power strips with their name on them for 40.00 on up.

Worth the money if you have a few devices taking up all the space on your power strip?
Love it! Exactly what I needed! With all the different types and shapes of power plugs used by companies (such as idiots like Amazon or Google who shape them differently for a pure money grab?), I really needed a power strip like this with the flexibility to accommodate the various shapes of power cords I have for my DVD player (regular plug), home phone (big square shaped plug) and a Google fiber modem (big fat round shaped plug), all 3 of which took up all the space on a standard 6-outlet power strip that I couldn't plug anything else into.
I waffled back and forth about whether I wanted or even needed to spend $30 on a freaking power strip, but decided to do it anyway, and I'm so glad I did it now because instead of 3 devices taking up an entire power strip, they now only take up 3 out of 10 outlets, leaving me 7 more available to use should I need to.

Nice concept, but...
I got this to help manage power connections for my PC, printer, powered USB hub, and other electricity-using devices. The rotating outlets seemed like they would be great for using with AC adapters. They are, but there's a catch. You still can't put two larger adapters next to each other, even with one of the outlets rotated. That wasn't enough for me to return this, but it was very disappointing.

Watch out for pin position
It's a step in the right direction.
Usefull for 3 prong plugs. Less usefull for 3 prong blocks as many of the blocks have the pin in the wrong position: the cord exits the block on the same side as the pin. In such a case the rotating outlet cannot be used. when the surge protector lies flat.
