Where can I find the specs for IP control?
    Ryan D on Jan 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, thank you for reaching out to us. The specs are part of the units built in firmware application. It can be accessed via TCP/IP by connecting directly to the unit. Once connected, you will be able to run the application which will allow you to set you own custom TCP/IP for remote management.
This indicates that it can be controlled by a PC. Does it include software or could someone direct me to software options? Thanks.
    A shopper on Jan 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, The unit features an on-board application called "MatrixController.exe" on the firmware. Once connected via either TCP/IP or RS232 power on the unit and run the program. You will be directed to a "General" control page which will allow you to configure TCP/IP/ EDID, and other Matrix functions. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.
The specs say 4K@30Hz is supported. A competing product has two different maximum refresh rates for 4K depending on the color sub-sampling. That product supports 4K@30Hz with 4:4:4 color and 4K@60Hz with 4:2:0 color. Presumably 4:2:0 with 4K@60Hz is not supported by this. Does this support 4:4:4 color with 4K@30Hz? (See Karl Soule's 6/28/2010 blog post on Color Subsampling for explanation.)
    WILLIAM V on May 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This matrix supports 8.9Gbps of throughput and HDCP 2.2.
When you switch an HDMI input to a different output, does the associated coaxial output switch along with it?
    A shopper on Feb 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The Coaxial outputs are tied to the corresponding HDMI inputs. It will switch along with the HDMI inputs.
Do you have to use the coax audio jacks to pass audio or does it follow the HDMI outputs as well?
    James M on Jul 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. It will pass the audio to the HDMI outputs. The coax audio outputs are not required.
Does the IR sensor allow you to control the source input from any of the Remote televisions?
    A shopper on Jun 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, The IR sensor will relay back to each TV's assigned Source.
Where can i look for firmware updates?
    Drue I on Jan 1, 2018
I have two PCs, each one has a 4 head video card. The one PC will be the backup to the other. Each head drives one monitor which has emergency management information. Can I program so that with one button push on the front to switch between inputs 1234 (PC#1) going to outputs ABCD to inputs 5678 (PC#2) go to outputs ABCD?
    Jude H on Feb 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: 8 pushes, 2 pushes to set each monitor. Otherwise you would have to use software.
    Is the switching seamless?
    A shopper on Nov 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, there will be a delay as the HDMI handskae/sync takes places between the display and the matrix. Mine take anywhere from 2-3 seconds.
Does this unit fade between outputs or is it a hard cut?
    A shopper on Sep 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hard cut. And it is not instant. HDMI handshake has to take place every time you switch an input/output. Keep in mind this is not considered a "video switcher", which would allow for fades and instant cuts.
Does this 8x8 Blackbird switch have Video Wall mode like the 4x4 Blackbird unit? In other words, can you select 1 input to be divided (not cloned) among 4 displays?
    Ashley R on Apr 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: What's the difference between divided and cloned?
so with the ir sensors the transmitter would have to plug into the matrix which is in my media closet facing my input devices and the receiver would have to plug into the matrix as well but be placed in front of my displays my issue is my displays are 100ft away from my closet, so how long are the cords or what arre other options?
    A shopper on Jul 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The transmitters/receivers use stereo 3.5mm jacks. They at only about an arms lenght, so you are right they are too short for your use. You can purchase 3.5mm extension cables at you desired length for them with the appropriate female/male ends. Another option, that I do, is to run cat5 cable between the TVs and the close, and either cut and solder the ends of the receiver/transmitters onto the coax wires, or use a Cat5 IR adapter on each end of the cat5. If using the adapters, then you need a shorter 3.5mm male-male cable to go between the matrix and the cat5 adapter.
So if im playing say Blu-ray with DTS-MA in the theater what would the coax audio output be in the other rooms? std dts5.1? dd5.1? or pcm2.0? or nothing at all? thanks
    A shopper on Mar 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It will output what you specify In the Edid. Look at the spec sheet for supported formats. I have a blue ray player that it does not support the audio for at all and when using a DVD it only supports 2ch. It's older so I will be looking for another blue ray player.

    Works as advertised
I have 8 inputs going to 5 TVs in the same room, this device works perfectly as advertised. I set it up with the Harmony One and it works great. I have 5 digital optical cables out so I can pull audio from any of the connected outputs easily. Lot more I could talk about, but if you need an 8x8 matrix you can trust this one.
