I would like to remove the flexible arm and put on a different pole? Would this work?
A shopper
on Oct 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. The pole is just a simple pole. If the pole has the same size it will work perfectly. I was thinking in doing the same thing for my photo booth setup in where I mount a 24" monitor (touchscreen) to a pole (currently on a tripod)

Yes .... Providing the Different pole has the EXACT outside diameter of the original. And be Careful to account for the torque/leverage that can apply to how everything is anchored. :)

Yes, you will need to size the pole diameter properly, there is a limited range of pole diameters that will allow the arm to mount

Is there an alternative to the clamp mount (i.e. static desktop base bracket which mounts to desk surface) so that it could be placed not so near an edge?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, this product comes with through-hole mounting hardware. You just need to drill a 1/4" hole or use a desk grommet hole to position this mount anywhere on the desk. Hope this helps. Thanks.

The camp can actually be separated into two pieces. Which allows the pole to be directly mounted to the desk top, anywhere desired. I actually used it in exactly that way.

Can I use it on a glass desk or is it only designed for other kind of surfaces?
Luis G
on Nov 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It would really depend on your desk and the clamp you are looking to use. The glass would need to be fairly thick and strong. Best bet is to check with the manufacturer of the table. See what the max weight is for this type of mounting. After you're confident that it can be done, you might also want to get a couple of pieces of wood or thick plexi (make sure the edges are flush and smooth) to sandwich between the top and bottom of the desk where the clamp would be secured. Something to disturb the clamp-force to give it more surface to hold. Be sure to add padding (full surface to surface contact, not dots or feet) to anything thats touching the glass as well as making sure there isnt any dirt or sand anywhere during the installation. the tiniest spec of dirt or sand can break even the thickest piece of glass.

Can I remove the tray? I like this but only need the monitor mount part of it.

BEST ANSWER: Hi. Yes you can remove the keyboard tray if you don't need it. Also, if you don't need the entire height for a monitor mount, Monoprice has other gas spring mounts you might want to consider, you can search the following numbers to check them out: 15525, 15526. Thank you.

on Aug 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the edge of the keyboard tray could extend to around 28" from the pole. If your desk is too deep, there is also an option to use a through hole, instead of using the edge clamp, to attach this product closer on your desk. Thanks for checking.

What is the diameter of the pole? I am going to remove the mounts and attach them to an existing pole structure, and would like to see if it fits.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, the pole is 35mm in diameter, or around 1.38 inches. However we can't recommend use with a different pole since we have not tested that application. But if you are confident with your DIY skills, at least consider using some locking ring, positioned below the mount on the pole, that is fitted exactly to your pole as a fail safe. Hope this helps.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, we do not have this spare part, but you could use similar hardware with the same inner diameter. Shaft Collars or Clamping Collars should work if you can find those. Alternatively steel hose clamps and a layer of rubber could work too.

How can a arm be still in one position and not swiveling?
New User U
on Dec 19, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Hi, thank you for your inquiry. The Product # 15718 is designed to provide flexibility and adjustability for both the monitor and keyboard. While the monitor arm allows for swiveling and tilting to achieve the desired viewing angle, the keyboard tray is not designed to swivel or rotate. It is intended to remain in a fixed position for typing and working on the keyboard.

How can I lower the keyboard tray? There are no actual instruction, just this ridiculous wordless coloring book thing. The poorly-drawn, tiny illustration shows rotating an Allen key clockwise. I rotated it 50 times, but the keyboard dray still will not lower. The turns the sit-stand workstation into a "can't actually be used" workstation, since I can't stand all day.

is there a way to lock the location of the pneumatic tube? I'm putting speakers on this, and even thought they are under the recommended weight limit, the arms drop down immediately when the speakers are mounted. I have tightened up the screw that makes it less flexible, but it's still not enough. I want them locked and immobile!

I understand the pole is 32” piece which is too long for my intentions, which would be to inky use the keyboard tray portion. Do you suggest a d.I.y solution where I have the pole cut down to a shorter length? I assume the metal pole can be cut with a metal or hack saw. Thanks!

Keyboard Tray not the most stable
I've had this stand for a couple of years, when writing on the keyboard tray, it rocks the monitor to the pole it's connected too.
I wish there is a more stabilizing feature for this, but you get what you pay for, I guess.

A cost effective solution with room for improvement.
This Sit-Stand Articulating Monitor and Keyboard station was purchased for a business where the end users will mostly be standing during use, but are of vastly different heights. An adjustable station is vastly better in this environment because users can quickly adjust the monitor and keyboard to a comfortable height for them.
The monitor mount could be improved with a detachable bracket, so it may be difficult to attach the monitor while screwing it to the VESA mount without an extra set of hands. The keyboard arm gives a nice wide range of motion, but the keyboard tray could be much sturdier and tends to flex when using the off-centered keyboard. The keyboard tray is essentially a flat piece of metal with one beveled edge to stop items from falling off if tilted. Unfortunately this prevents the tray from remaining level if lowered below the main support arm unless the keyboard is in the opposite orientation (i.e. there is no lip where your wrist may rest). Since there is no cloth or anti-slip surface, keyboards and mice can easily slide off the tray.

Easy to use work station, but a little shaky
It is a good looking work station, and it moves smoothly. It is very easy to move from sitting to standing. The only issue is that when typing, especially if you are heavy on the keyboard, the screen shakes a bit. It's not enough to make the screen unreadable, but definitely noticeable.

Good, sturdy but could use some improvements
I received the stand yesterday. Assembly was about average, but took some time. I ran in to the following issues the l bracket is not a perfect 90 deg. Due to this I was not able to mount to the back of the dresser and thus I drilled a hole in the top of the dresser. Upon trying to screw the mounting bracket into the top the bolt, The plastic topped interfered with the structure of the dresser and the top drawer. I found a shorter small bolt for the evening and will get a slightly longer one tonight at Home Deport today.
The second and more critical issue is the arms are of un even length. They look ok when extended and in use, but if pushed back against the wall the monitor is not centered above the keyboard tray. I recommend replacing the monitor arm with one the same length as the keyboard arm. This will also allow this stand to act as a tall dual monitor stand.
I am considering possible return of product for spouse acceptance factor.
PROS: Sturdy
multiple ways to install
Not difficult to install.
CONS: Arms of uneven length limits flexibility and visually awkward if pushed back to put away.
Recommend Monoprice change product and consider selling arms separate.
Bracket is a rounded 90 deg making flush installation difficult.
length and shape of plastic bolt likely to interfere if install at rear of desk/dresser.
