I am thinking about buying one of these coolers, the 50. I read one review that said this cooler sweats on the outside. Has anyone else had that issue? Thanks.

BEST ANSWER: I bought one of these and took it to the gulf coast of Texas (Port Aransas). Didn't sweat for me. performed as expected and happy with the purchase. it now serves as cooler for use in my RV so I don't have to pull it with the refrigerator running. no sweating and the floor of my RV stays dry.

No drilling of holes in the 50L cooler needed if you order this wire basket. I ordered an Igloo accessory wire basket Model 20074 off there website and it fits like a glove. I tried others and had to send them back. The model 20074 fits like it was made for the 50L.

Based on the one I purchased, it doesn't have any slots for dividers. It also doesn't come with any baskets but there is a small lip/ledge on the front and rear interior walls of the cooler that might work for a basket if you could find or make one with the correct dimensions.

I have the 50, and it is smooth on the inside. There is a small lip on the front and back edges that could accommodate a basket. Based on my measurements it would need to 13.5 in to rest on the lip.

No slots for dividers, and doesn't come with a basket. But, the Emperor 80 has a lip that the Igloo 20071 Wire Cooler Basket fits on, and doesn't prevent the lid from closing. found it on Amazon.

Not available...but voiding warranty of course you could make slight adjustments and make your own version. IT WILL VOID WARRANTY. I do not advise doing so just because of the excellent warranty.

How thick is the insulation?
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: if the insulation fills the entire space between the interior and exterior walls, i'd say close to 3 inches based on the interior and exterior measurements provided on the Full Specs page. Hard to say as you can not physically see the insulation. I would say somewhere around 2" though, depending on the thickness of the cooler walls.

BEST ANSWER: Performance wise I'd say it should be similar. The finish on the plastic is the perfection you see with the name brands but that's just aesthetic. The lid hinge doesn't seem quite a sturdy as Yeti, but isn't by any means weak. For the price it's a good buy. I'd say the big name brands probably are slightly better than these coolers, but IMHO not worth more than 2X the price of these.

Hi William, it's the same technology, the cooler is build as a tank. Very solid and I do not feel you are overpaying for them.
You also can't beat monoprice's life time warranty on them, even Yeti doesn't offer it!
Try it you have 30 days money back guarantee!
Hope this helps.

I've been shopping for the ultimate cooler and bought this at a steal. Here's my requirements that were carefully reviewed and analyzed:
*Prefer USA manufactured or even better USA materials plus manufactured here. This is made in China :(
*Thickest insulation possible, above 1.5" prefer 3" just cause I'm greedy
*Either a wicked color scheme or extremely light colored exterior. Personal flare vs better uv/heat dissipation.
*Larger than 20 liter/quart but none above 30. Just personal use for Corona bottles which would require enough interior height storage.
*LIFETIME WARRANTY a must, I plan on this being my last REAL cooler. Not interested in lesser offered warranties just out of rigidity concerns if a item costs more it should be better and better, just sayin.
*Bottle opener a must because I drink sealed bottle beer. If I'm opening the cooler I'm gonna open a brew-sky.....ALL with one hand!
*PRICE, PRICE, PRICE. Even if I had to buy 3 or 4 more of the product (hopefully not knock on wood), does it really need to be soooo expensive. It's not even powered cooling for Christs' sake lol. I could buy a refrigerator with freezer for the price a Yeti?!
*Bear Proof is a waste of time in my areas of activity, there are very very few that exist here and quite frankly if a bear wants in a plastic cooler just take a look at the discovery channel and you tell me. Ridiculously unnecessary and merely a sales gimmick of durability plastic vs bear....duh!
*Tie downs are definitely tactical. Most come with this unless they are cheap or really small in general.
*Prefer a drain plug I can screw directly into my garden hose for easy cleaning. Although, this cooler may be suspect to leakage and or breaking at the plug cap but I can easily fix that without voiding warranty. Buy a brass or copper garden hose thread cap with a nice rubber gasket, voila!
*Carry handles/bar must be extremely durable because of full capacity weight tolerance factor.
No bear worries if you eat it first ;)Peace

I got the cooler. I love it. I have one problem with it. I'm trying to install a valve on the drain, but nothing matches the threading. It's not standard hose threading. It's not pvc threading. Nothing from the hardware store matches. It's driving me crazy. Does anyone know where I can find something that fits it?

Excellent coolers at excellent prices!
I have three sizes (25, 50 and 80) and love these coolers. I make my own “ice blocks” by filling 2qt bottles and freezing them. I place my food products in the bottom and have a “shelf” above where I place the frozen bottles. I also insert a Thermoworks DOT inside to monitor my temperatures at the food level. I just came back from a week long trip from the Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon and maintained temperatures below 40 degrees and the bottles of still had some ice in them!

Great option for a cheaper alternative to a Yeti
This cooler did a great job of maintaining temperature for my food over a 7 hour trip in the car. I used 2 cooler packs on each side and some loose ice and by the time we reached our destination, basically none of the ice had melted. It took about 2 days for all of the ice to melt inside the closed cooler.

Too big to fit in my car's trunk
I should have paid more attention to the size, and made more measurements. I was reviewing this against a similar competitor's cooler. The other cooler, while 45 liters, would fit in my car, and I didn't think this would have been as tall as it is. The sticker on the front was also peeling off as soon as I took it out of the box the first time. Otherwise the quality looks pretty good.

Very Pleased
I’ve never owned a rotomold cooler before so I really don’t have anything to compare the cooler to. If I put an 8 pound bag of ice in the cooler I still have a little ice after 72 hours and the water will be very cold for a couple more days. It is certainly much better than your average cooler. Considering the price point of this cooler versus a Yeti, I am very pleased with my purchase.

Can't beat the cooler for the price
The cooler is right up there with the big name brands. I do spray foam insulation and I keep my cooler in the back seat of my truck and its stocked with one 8 pound bad about every two days until its time to drain the water. I only drain half the water to keep it easy to find my beverage of choice. Ive gotten five days ice retention easy. The only problem I have is the logo peeled off and the drain is slightly smaller than a water hose hook up so you can't screw on a drain hose. If there is a fix for that please let me know. Thanks
