BEST ANSWER: Absolutely. You can replace an older HDMI cable with one of these new Certified Premium cables. I've done this throughout my home theaters.

So how easily can you make a 180 bend with these cables. In my application, the TV HDMI ports point outward on the side, so I would need to curve the cables from the ports back to the wall mount in the center. What is the width of the arc?
A shopper
on Jul 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The cables are a little bit thick (26AWG) and sturdy so it is not easy to do but with a little work you can turn the cable back on itself at a 180 degree angle. The arc would then just be as thick as the cable doubled over (15.8mm)

The cable is about 3/8” diameter, so not sure how easily and tight a 180° bend would occur. My guess is 6-8” without doing damage to the wire conductors inside. You might wish to try one of the flat HDMI cables available-not sure if Monoprice sells them.

I purchased 2 of the 3 ft cables early this year 2018. They are stamped on the cable 32AWG. They are quite flexible. I can bend them back against itself. No problem with these cables. Looks like Monoprice has made them heavier and more flexible.

What is the maximum cumulative length of certified premium HDMI cables you can use? I would like to use a 6' from receiver to wall, 1' in wall, 15' to second floor, and 3' from wall to bedroom receiver. This totals 25 feet. There would have to be 3 keystone HDMI wall couplers. Which coupler should I use for 4K and HDR compatibility?

BEST ANSWER: Hi Ira,
This is unfortunately not easily determined. The total distance is dependent on too many external factors for us to give an educated guess. In this case we would recommend following cabling best practices and using the shortest run of cable possible with the least amount of breaks in the chain as possible as well. There may be a need for an HDMI 2.0 repeater but it may not be determined until after the cables are installed. We recommend using Active cables when running lengths longer than 25ft. Please consult a professional installer for additional guidance on your installation.

Does this support the new HDMI 2.1?
New User U
on Nov 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi User,
This cable meets all of the existing requirements being tested for at the HDMI ATC. Currently HDMI is only able to certify what are essentially HDMI 2.0 cables, (NOTE: Please don't refer to our cables or any HDMI cables by HDMI version numbers, because it's technically incorrect) with testing for HDMI 2.1 opening up sometime later this year.
On the bright side, these certified cables are guaranteeing performance for devices that are on the market today. They will give you the absolute top performance that the technology is capable of right now. HDMI 2.1 is still being ratified and developed by hardware manufacturers so there is still plenty of time before we have to worry.

Worked Awesome
After replacing the old projector the new epson was glitching out and when connected to my Yamaha receiver for surround it simply would not work.
After contacting Yamaha, they suggested I tried the Monoprice. These cables are no rackett. They are Affordable and work. After 1 year of troubleshooting, the cables fixed my issue. This was great cause the HDMI cables they sell you for twice as much at best buy are not certified and DONT WORK. Rip Off.
Thank you for solving my tech issues. Monoprice I will use from here on out.

Heavier and stiffer than I thought it would be
I chose this cable because it wasn't a braided one. Yet it is pretty stiff. I have 6ft. HDMI cables that are thinner and not stiff, and was hoping this cable would be the same thickness, but it's not. Maybe longer cables such as this are all heavier than 6ft. cables, I don't know.

Cable gave full 4K features for Xbox. Needed a long cable to run through the wall and this was by far the best price for a cable of this length. Very satisfied.

Movie Time ~ from laptop to big screen!
This 15ft HDMI cable works perfectly! I used it to connect my laptop streaming movies to my TV monitor so I can watch on a bigger screen. The cable is simple in design and blends well without distraction. The cable is supple enough to manage navigating curves around furniture & cabinetry. The video transfer is excellent, even subtitles are crystal clear! Very happy with this well made cable.
