    A shopper on Jul 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your inquiry. The weight for 15319 (Pure Outdoor Carbon Cork Trekking Poles, Pair) is 235g/8.3 ounces. The weight for 15985 (Pure Outdoor Aluminum Cork Trekking Poles, Pair) is 587g/20.7 ounces.
What is collapsed length and length at maximum extension?
    A shopper on Dec 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hello, thank you for your question. Length of the pole fully retracted is 26.8 inches. The length at maximum extension (without going beyond breaking point) is 53.1 inches. Also the weight of an individual pole is 235g/8.3 ounces.

Would these work as a wading staff in shallow creek water?
    Ronald C R on Mar 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would think so. Removing the rubber tips exposes a steel tip that is great on rock, so I think the grip on the creek bottom would be adequate. As far as getting the poles wet, I don’t think that would pose any problems, either.
The snow baskets keep on unscrewing off the poles while walking. Has anyone got a method on how to secure them? (Preferably not permanently, but so I can still switch them out for other baskets)
    A shopper on Jul 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You could try loctite thread locker glue...
The description simply states 'Lightweight'. How much exactly do these weigh?
    A shopper on Dec 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The 2 poles together weigh exactly 1 pound. That's with the rubber tip caps but without the plastic baskets.
Is there any way to reduce the length of the poles so they could fit into a suitcase? Can the handle or tip be removed for transport? Reducing the length by just 3 inches would allow it to fit in my luggage.
    thanks
    Gordon V on Apr 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The Trekking Pole length fully retracted would be 26.8 inches. The included tips are removable. However the pointed tip and the handled are not removable. I hope this helps.

    Fantastic for Philmont!
I got a request to write a review back in May (shortly after I ordered these trekking poles), but I decided to hold off until after I put them to a real-world test.

I was getting ready to buy a significantly more expensive set of trekking poles back in April in preparation for 10 days on the trail at Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico in June. Essentially the day same day I was gonna pull the trigger, I got an e-mail from Monoprice announcing their new camping and backpacking line. These trekking poles were listed prominently in the e-mail.

Being as I had previous excellent experience with Monoprice products, I decided to take a chance and order these poles. They have not disappointed. These poles are EXTREMELY lightweight and strong. I split the set with my son and used one pole throughout the trek. They stood up to the rigors of the trail even up to the summit of Baldy (12,441 feet). My fellow adult advisors had significantly more expensive poles and were impressed by the Monoprice offering. I think you could say they were a little envious. My poles were lighter than any of theirs. The only negative comment I heard was "but they don't have shocks", but I think that was just to make that advisor feel better g. The only complaint I would have personally is that I lost a rubber tip in the rocks on that last kilometer above the treeline going up Baldy, however as I understand it, that was a common occurrence for several people.

PROS: Extremely lightweight, strong, extremely comfortable cork grips

    CONS: None

    Great poles except locking nuts
These are great poles. Great weight, comfortable, easy setup.

Only con is the locking compression nut comes loose over time. a big pain when after a few hours one is shorter than the other. I think a more precise manufactured nut would fix that problem, current one feels loosely put together.

    Excellent Trekking Poles
This is an excellent pair of trekking poles, I also bought them a few months ago in preparation the summer backpacking season, the poles did not disappoint. They are light weight, the pair weighs 430 grams/15.15oz (Surprised Monoprice does not include this info in the description), this is in line with other carbon fiber poles you will find at retail stores. They are also sturdy and do not vibrate like metal trekking poles. I swapped trekking poles during the hike with a person who uses metal (aluminum) trekking poles, I found the vibration to be a little annoying after not experiencing it with the Monprice carbon fiber poles. I also used the trekking poles with my trekking pole Tarptent and they worked perfectly. Very pleased with my purchase.

PROS: Light weight, sturdy, great value

    Exceptional hiking poles
These poles are very light, quite rigid, and have all the features you'd want. The handles are a very comfortable cork, and the straps are lined with neoprene. The baskets/tip covers supplied are standard: snow, mud, asphalt. What's not standard, however, is just how light and maneuverable these are. I bought these to use when hiking with a child carrier (baby backpack), and I had to battle my wife for one. I'm ordering a second pair for her! These are comfortable, light, easy to use (the height markings are clearly laid out). A really fantastic set of poles!

For some context, we hiked with these for a few weeks, and I've used twist-lock aluminum poles in the past. We know hiking/camping gear quite well, and this is certainly top tier.

PROS: Light, strong, sturdy, very comfortable grips

CONS: The nuts on the snap locks could be a little tighter - they spin very easily when unlocked (I might try some blue locktite to keep them from moving).

    great - inexpensive Treking poles
I bought these as a second pair of poles to leave in my car. They are sturdy and lightweight. Similar to my much more expensive Black Diamonds.... The only downside is the grip is large and the top plastic is hard. If there were a way to remove the grip and replace with a smaller one these would be perfect..... Someone mentioned the lock nuts loosening on these... I added a drop of loctite (or nail polish) to the nuts and they are firm and stay perfectly tight. All and All a great purchase

    Very solid build
My first set of hiking sticks. Light weight, portable and durable. great price comparable to some of the expensive ones I found at REI.

PROS: fold it up and it fits perfectly behind my hiking bag. very solid and easily adjustable.

    CONS: None.

    Quality
From what I can tell so far, these are really well made. The clamps bind well, the hand grips feel great, and the whole thing is feather weight.
