Pure Outdoor Carbon Cork Trekking Poles, Pair
The Monoprice Carbon Cork Trekking Poles are ideal accessories for hikers and outdoor adventurers. The all-season design is perfect for Treks/Day Hikes, Backpacking, and Expeditions of all types. The carbon-fiber construction means that these poles are both lighter and stronger than aluminum poles of similar design, while the genuine cork handle provides a superior grip, better moisture handling capabilities, and improved resistance to the build-up of dirt and grime over EVA foam grips. Length is easily adjustable using the Fast Locking System, which is both easier to adjust and is more secure than the twist-lock systems found on other poles. The carbide tips are ideal for most conditions, while the three pairs of rubber and plastic feet allow you to quickly adapt the poles for rock/concrete surfaces, as well as wet & muddy and snowy conditions.
Premium Cork Grip: Never lose your grip! Unlike EVA foam grips, which deteriorate over time, sponge up and retain moisture, and accumulate grime, our premium cork grips provide superior grip and water resistance. The adjustable 360-degree swivel nylon straps ensure you won't lose your poles, even when you let go your grip.
Lightweight: The carbon-fiber shaft construction means that these poles are both lighter and stronger than aluminum poles of similar design.
Fast Locking System: The Fast Locking System is both faster and easier to adjust than twist-lock or elastic-grip systems. Additionally, it provides superior pole grip, ensuring that the telescoping poles won't collapse when you put some extra weight or force on them.
Safe In All Conditions

Only con is the locking compression nut comes loose over time. a big pain when after a few hours one is shorter than the other. I think a more precise manufactured nut would fix that problem, current one feels loosely put together.
I was getting ready to buy a significantly more expensive set of trekking poles back in April in preparation for 10 days on the trail at Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico in June. Essentially the day same day I was gonna pull the trigger, I got an e-mail from Monoprice announcing their new camping and backpacking line. These trekking poles were listed prominently in the e-mail.
Being as I had previous excellent experience with Monoprice products, I decided to take a chance and order these poles. They have not disappointed. These poles are EXTREMELY lightweight and strong. I split the set with my son and used one pole throughout the trek. They stood up to the rigors of the trail even up to the summit of Baldy (12,441 feet). My fellow adult advisors had significantly more expensive poles and were impressed by the Monoprice offering. I think you could say they were a little envious. My poles were lighter than any of theirs. The only negative comment I heard was "but they don't have shocks", but I think that was just to make that advisor feel better g. The only complaint I would have personally is that I lost a rubber tip in the rocks on that last kilometer above the treeline going up Baldy, however as I understand it, that was a common occurrence for several people.
PROS: Extremely lightweight, strong, extremely comfortable cork grips
PROS: Light weight, sturdy, great value
For some context, we hiked with these for a few weeks, and I've used twist-lock aluminum poles in the past. We know hiking/camping gear quite well, and this is certainly top tier.
PROS: Light, strong, sturdy, very comfortable grips
CONS: The nuts on the snap locks could be a little tighter - they spin very easily when unlocked (I might try some blue locktite to keep them from moving).
