What is the difference between HOSS Installer Grade Active and DynamicView Active? Would it work reliably at 40ft run with 4k dolby vision ?

    Monoprice DynamicView Active High Speed HDMI Cable - 4K @ 60Hz, HDR, 18Gbps, 30AWG, YUV 4:4:4, CL2, 25ft, Black

    Monoprice HOSS Active High Speed HDMI Cable - 4K @ 60Hz, HDR, 18Gbps, 24AWG, YUV 4:4:4, CL3, 35ft, Black
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question.
Both Hoss and DynamicView would support 4k Dolbyvision reliably at 40ft. Both cables will do that currently at 50ft, and soon at 60ft.
Functionally, Hoss and DynamicView are the same
The difference is in the physical construction of the cable. HOSS is thicker and DynamicView is thinner at shorter lengths with a thinner outer diameter on the cable.
If you are looking for a thinner cable, DynamicView is the one you want. If you appreciate a big thick cable, HOSS is it.
Both cables carry the latest active chipset from Spectra7, HT8181, and will support HDR video, 4k@60Hz, 18Gbps and 4:4:4 color sampling up to 50ft today and soon to longer lengths.

    Thanks!
Is there an issue using a non-active high speed hdmi from my Roku to my A/V receiver and then a 35' active Hoss hdmi to my 4k hdr tv?.

Does this support pass thru receivers?

Will HDR signal make it over 50’ runs? I would like to run the HDMI cable up the wall and thru the attic instead of along the floor. I think the total distance will be around 60’.

    Will this cable support 3D?
    A shopper on Jan 29, 2018
how thick is the hdmi cable?
    A shopper on Jan 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It depends on the length. The shorter the length the thinner it is. At 25' it is the thinnest HDMI cable I have found at about "1/4 thick. With this cable you just need to make sure you use the right ends for source and monitor.
Which end do I plug up to the projector?
    A shopper on Jul 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There should be a "flag" on each end of the cable.. The end labeled "Source" is plugged into the computer and the end labeled "Display" is plugged into the projector or external monitor.
What is the difference in these cables versus the active redmere cables?

    Monoprice Select Series Active High Speed HDMI Cable - 4K @ 24Hz, 10.2Gbps, 28AWG, CL2, 25ft, Black
BEST ANSWER: DynamicView uses the next generation "RedMere" active HDMI chipset, HT8181. "RedMere" was the name that originally developed the chipset that Monoprice used in the cables. A few years ago a company called Spectra7 bought RedMere, so "RedMere" is no longer used to describe the cable. DynamicView uses latest "RedMere" chipset, HT8181. It is just not called "RedMere" anymore.
Is this a HDMI premium certified cable?
    Donald M on Aug 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We used this cable in a home theater applications running it from a server room over to a 4K TV and it worked out great because the cable is easy to work with because if it's size and flex. Remember that the cable is directional so make sure you run the cable the right way as listed on each end if not the cable will not work.
Can I assume that this DynamicView cable also supports ATMOS sound?
    Gerard W on Apr 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. It will pass the audio signal

    Work flawlessly
I was having issues with stuttering and cutouts while trying to push 4K content to my projector from my AVR over a 25 foot run. Installed this cable and haven't had an issue since - picture quality is tremendous and no more stuttering.

    Works great!
I purchased the 25' version to replace a bad Commercial Series 24AWG cable (PID #: 13784). This cable is MUCH nicer; the 30AWG wire is much thinner, the jacket is much more flexible, and the connectors are lower profile.

    I get 4k @ 60hz as advertised, overall a great product!

    Perfection, finally
When our AV contractor installed wiring for our 4K HDR TV they installed a cable that, at 50' long, was twice the length required. It also wasn't rated for a 4K HDR signal. Needless to say it didn't work. I replaced it with what I thought was a high-quality 25' 4k HDR 60Hz-rated HDMI cable that cost $250. It worked after a fashion, but I wasn't able to use it with my 4K Apple TV reliably. Although I could get it to work at 60Hz 4K HDR, it wasn't reliable. I'd get snow on the screen and the image would blank out periodically. I was all set to buy an even more expensive cable when I read an article that explained why higher priced cables are not necessarily better. It recommended this monoprice cable. Given the low-price I was really skeptical, but it works perfectly: no signal degradation, no lost sync, or intermittent black screen of death. It just works, and at the highest quality the 4K Apple TV can deliver. I'm really impressed, and would recommend this cable highly.

    Screen Tearing
Running 25ft from pc to living room tv @4k 60fps for gaming. If I run games at 1080p they run fine, when I bring pc upstairs and play @4k on my 6ft high end hdmi they run fine, but when using this cable @4k (locked at 60fps) there is a ton of screen tearing, even when going through game menus. It is clearly the cable not being capable of successfully carrying the full bandwidth for the entire 25ft.... which was my fear of Monoprice claiming such of a 30awg cable. Unfortunately, it took a lot of time and energy to properly run the cable and will most likely, out of frustration, snip the end to remove it easier. I will be replacing with a brand I know to be reliable.

    Didn't work
This item worked fine for sending 4k HDR from my Apple tv and xbox to my tv, however, it didn't work when trying to send hdr from my receiver to my TV. The problem took forever to diagnose, and it came down to this cable. Doesn't work as advertised.
