does this cable require a separate power source? Or can it utilize any power from a Binary 1x4 splitter?

No extra power source needed - it is an 'active' cable, meaning it has electronics in it and uses power from the hdmi connection.

I want to run the cable outside the house where it will be subjected to rain and wind. Is this cable suitable to use in this manner?

Works well. Quite a bit thicket than expecting. Comes looped all in the same direction, so something to think about while unspooling.

Works for ARC.
As an AV installer, I constantly have to find work arounds. On this job changes were made at the last minute.
All 4K sources are located at the TV.
I am using the cable to complete ARC. Seams to be working fine for the customer.

Finally.
It worked! Fixed a problem with splitting an HDMI output over 50ft. Who says all hdmi cables are the same - not me (any longer).

Disappointing.
Faulty cable didn't work with any combination we tried using various computers, tvs or projectors. Replaced it with a vga. Will be returning this. Disappointing given the great reviews.

Pushing the envelope
Bought 2 60' "active" cables to use with a powered splitter. Worked ok for a while on one TV but eventually started "dropping out". No signal at all on a 32" Samsung but would get through to an older Vizio TV. No explanations anywhere. I suspect HDMI just can't be expected to go more than 50' and am working to return these "active" cables. May be vaporware.

Great HDMI Cable- Fair price
After trying this active cable, which worked great, I added an A/B switch from my cable box and still didn't see any degrade in quality.

Too long to work
While I was there at Monoprice's warehouse, returning the Monoprice brand 70-volt audio amplifiers (see my review), I saw somebody returning this very same HDMI cable. They don't work!

No signal detected at the far end. I've connected it to three different outputs and two different monitors to no avail.

4k required
I recently purchased an Optoma 4k Projector and a Samsung 4k Blu-Ray. Many of the complaints for the projector was the inability or lack of knowledge of the user to interconnect 4K cables between their home theater components: otherwise just provides 1080p (or less). My projector uses a 50 foot Luxe series cable interconnection for 4k, has no noise, full 4k resolution and has completely satisfied my video needs: awesome!!!
