I would like to run this through my wall, and would like to terminate to wallplate 6727, and keystone Jack 6852 on both ends. Will those work ok with this cable?

The Monoprice HDMI keystone would not pass 4k for me. I tested 2 x HDMI with an Apple TV plugged directly into a 4k tv to verify they worked at 4k@60 + Dolby Vision.
When I inserted a keystone hdmi between them, Apple TV failed to maintain connection
Best recommendation is to connect source to TV with no breaks.

While I used an On-Q Cat-6-RJ-45 Keystone plug. (and it works), there is no reason to doubt that your choice will work also. I recommend trying it out - that is - connecting all the cables as they will be when the cable is in the wall. Remember it is a directional cable, with one end labelled source, the other display.

As of today 20 people want an answer to this. I'm trying to decide between HDBaseT that will work with CAT6 keystone jacks but doesn't support 18Gb. I can't believe people running 100' cables don't have patch panels on either side. Running through a ceiling and then out a brush strip is less than ideal.

Whats the difference between "active" and "passive"?
A shopper
on Mar 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: A passive cable is just a wire (or wires) that run the length between the connector on each end. An electrical extension cord is a good example of a passive cable.
An active cable has some sort of amplifier or processor in the line. In an HDMI cable, it would get the power it needs to drive the amplifier or processor from the signal source (the DVD player or satellite box, or whatever the cable is plugged into). For long cable lengths, an active cable is the best way to ensure a usable signal reaches the TV.
Active cables can only be installed one way. That is, a specific end MUST be plugged into the source, and the other end MUST be plugged into the TV (they are marked). I've used these particular cables in 40 foot lengths, and they work well.

Active has a chip that will send info the length of the wire. Passive the info is sent by the equipment but is only on short lengths. I purchased these but later found out they do not do HDR. These do what they need to do well but to get HDR I had to buy different ones.
I purchased the DynamicView Active High Speed HDMI Cable - 4K @ 60Hz, HDR, 18Gbps, 30AWG, YUV 4:4:4, CL2, 20ft, Black. Keeping my fingers crossed they will work. Waiting for work to get done to get everything up and running.

There is essentially a device in the cable that will boost the signal to allow it to travel a farther distance without being noticeably degraded. This allows for longer cables that are not required to be as bulky.

Do the Active chips on the Luxe Series use RedMere or are these cables based on a different technology ? Also, are they certified for HDMI2.0b ? Thank you !

BEST ANSWER: Hello, thank you for your question. Yes, the luxe series cables do in fact use Redmere technology. Though they are not certified for HDMI 2.0b they do support the 18Gbs necessary for high quality 4k@60Hz content at lengths up to 50ft.

Disappointed - Can't do 4K@60Hz
I bought this cable a few years ago in preparation of one day getting a 4K TV. That day came and I spent hours trying to get my TV to output 60Hz (Vizio M658-G1), but it couldn't until I bought a different cable. I connected directly from my PC (AMD Radeon RX 570) to my TV and could only get 30Hz. Very disappointed.

I bought this cable because I needed it for 4K. I have ran into many issues with 4K cables over 10ft long. I was referred to monoprice from the manufacturer of my receiver. So I bouhht this cable because it stated it was 4K compatible and it wasnt. So now I have this cable and cant use it. I have purchased many things from monoprice and love the quality of their stuff.
