Does this support HDR video?
Owen B
on Jan 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have this cable connected between my LG B6 and Denon X6200W. My Xbox One S is also connected to my Denon and when I open the video settings it shows that I am able to get 4K @ 60Hz with HDR. The Xbox One S supports 4K @ 60Hz 4:2:0 with HDR 10 which I am able to achieve with this cable. I am not certain if this cable would support Dolby Vision or other HDR formats besides HDR 10.

How fragile are these cables? I know fiber optics can be sensitive, and these would be run down the aisle of a theatre. Can this cable tolerate being stepped on?

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question.
This cable is not outdoor rated.
If you did want to run it outdoors we would recommend running it in an outdoor conduit.

I ran mine inside a pvc electrical conduit to keep it out of the uv Ray's and critters. They have a newer outdoor version of this cable with thicker rubber insulation and better uv protection. That may better suit your needs. Check it out in the av cable section on monoprice.

Monoprice 4K SlimRun AV High Speed HDMI Cable 100ft - AOC 18Gbps Black

Monoprice Blackbird 4K 1x8 HDMI Splitter with 3D Support

Monoprice Blackbird 4K 4x4 HDMI Matrix with 4x Coax Out
BEST ANSWER: Yes, in my case. My set up is Arris DCX3600-M cable box to 1x4 splitter to 1x2 splitter to Sony KDL-26m4000 TV. Cable box and TV are only 1080i capable while both splitters 4k. I also tested it, with splitters, prior to running through my attic on an older Samsung 1080P TV and it worked just fine. I purchased the 75' version.

Are these cables EDID compatible or not? It doesn't say anywhere in the product descriptions whether they are single directional. There is one review saying no, can I get a straight answer, Monoprice? Thanks.

Monoprice 4K SlimRun AV High Speed HDMI Cable 100ft - AOC 18Gbps Black

Monoprice SlimRun AV Series High Speed Cable for HDMI-Enabled Devices - 4K @ 24Hz, 10.2Gbps, Fiber Optic, AOC, CL2, 100ft, Black
BEST ANSWER: Calling Active cables directional is a misnomer, data travels in both directions being a digital cable. SlimRun AV operates no differently than any other active HDMI cable, where the active chipset is powered by the sink device. most of the time a sink device is usually a display, but a sink device by definition is a powered HDMI Input. The way that HDMI ports are designed is that the input on a powered device is capable of supplying power to a connected device. So Active cables need to have the active side plugged directly into the display. If an active cable is plugged into anything but a powered device, or if it is installed backwards the cable will not operate properly.
In regards to EDID compatibility, the cable does not manage EDID at all. It is ultimately a passive device that passes the EDID along to the sink device. If there are handshake issues being introduced the cable is not the problem, but rather the hardware. There are many different things that could lead to handshake issues and could be something that is ultimately difficult to resolve. i hope this clears up your questions.

Is there any type of delay introduced in the signal using this cable? My situation is I am connecting two TVs from my A/V receiver dual HDMI outs. One will be connected with a 25ft HDMI copper cable, while the other one is about 75ft away, so I need a solution for that length. But, because the televisions are in earshot of each other, it's important that the signal be in sync to both. So again, would this cable introduce delay of any type?

Amazing product
I used it from the output of a camera to the input of a production switcher. It had no problems with 1080p/60 100ft.
Makes me want to try te 330ft. one.
Really thin nice cable. I didn't check what the pull strength was or bend radius.
It's a little expensive but not when you consider the alternatives.

great Cable
I have purchased three 75 foot and a 100 foot fiber optic HDMI cable. These cables have all worked flawlessly for at least 2 years now. The very small diameter of the cable and the extreme flexibility make them very easy to run. In my opinion the high initial cost is more than offset by the great quality and reliability over long runs

It worked really good. Great picture. The only complaint I have is I wished it was more visible it was a directional cable. Of course I put it in backwards the first time in my attic.

SlimRun HDMI Cable
I installed the 100" cable to a 55" LG OLED.
The picture is great, clear as any install I have seen with much shorter cables.
