BEST ANSWER: For this application, I would just buy pre-terminated data patch cables. The cost and time would be better spent. Also CAT5e would be more appropriate since both of those devices would be only getting data from your ISP, which is capped well below the transmission standards even for 5e.

To make your own cables, you'll need RJ-45 plugs and a crimping tool. That said, if you only need two 50-foot cables, you can buy them pre-made for ~$8 apiece, which is quite a bit less expensive.

Can this be used outdoors? (Not buried)

BEST ANSWER: No, it is not rated for outdoor use. I would get a outdoor rated cable. They are more expensive but will hold up to the weather a lot better than this would.

No. You want to use a gel filled or equivalent cable to protect from temperature changes and moisture.

I noticed that the orange and orange-white pairs are twisted at a tighter configuration than the other wires. Is there a reason for this? And as a result, would it be preferred to wire this for 568A or 568B configuration.

BEST ANSWER: Pairs are twisted with a different twist rate to help avoid interference from adjacent pairs, this is why each of two pairs have the same twist rate.

Good day. No, it does not matter how tight or loose the wires are twisted as you will need to untwist them anyway in order to terminate the ends. Either 568a or 568b is fine, doesnt matter which one you use as long as the entire environment you're in (home or business network) uses the same configuration throughout. I personally used 568b to wire my house as thats the most widely used method in the industry.

Perfect for home ethernet runs
Bought this, keystone jacks, and punchdown tools to run ethernet in the house. Easy to draw what's needed out of the box, fantastic color selection to avoid wiring confusion later, and performs wonderfully.

Great value
Very well made cable. This was my first adventure into the DIY cable making and this was easy to use and easy to terminate.

Good Deal
Good price on CAT 6 cable. The cable did have the UL number printed on it contrary to a previous review for this product.

Had 8 cables to pull all together in one bundle to the same place. Since the boxes this cable comes in are very small, the cable is wound up too tightly. As a result, cable comes out of box incredibly curly and tangles up very easy. Also it has a tendency to snag inside the box due to reasons described above as well as some of the cardboard flaps inside box are sharply squared off instead of radial. Very frustrating if you are pulling several cables at the same time. Would be better if cable came in a larger box which would prevent cable from having to be wound up inside box so tightly. Probably no big deal if you are just bulling one or two cables and short distance, but for a larger cable job you will not be happy.

Seems lower quality
I had previously purchased what I thought was this same wire in a different color. That purchase arrived on a spool, wire was marked with wire type and UL ratings. This purchase arrived in a dispenser box which was extremely difficult to feed from the box (box states must be stored in upright position for proper feeding, but was shipped in box lying down), plastic spline was much smaller but more importantly there are no markings in the outside of the wire. That will be an issue when building inspector comes to inspect work and wants to validate the wire is in-deed in wall rated.
