Does this have a normal end connector? (I think RJ-45?) Such as: Can I use this Cat7 cable from my normal router from my internet company, that has a normal ethernet port to my normal ethernet port on my laptop? (I read somewhere that Cat7 sometimes has a different end connector and isn't compatible?)

BEST ANSWER: The "best answer" by Michael L on Apr 17, 2019 is incorrect : "Yes. It has the same end connector. I believe all CAT cables (up to CAT 8, the current highest level) use the same connector. The CAT-7 cables I bought from Monoprice all plugged right in to all my devices: modem, router, TVs and other devices."
This product is not a real Cat 7 cable assembly because it uses RJ45 as the connector. The Cat 7 standard calls for GG45 connectors; while they are backward compatible with the 8P8C connector standard (commonly named RJ45), GG45 are not the same. GG45 is built differently and has 4 additional contacts in order to achieve the rated speeds when connected to a Cat 7 or 7a network.
A cable assembly has to have those GG45 connectors to be a real Cat 7 or 7a cable.
So in short, Monoprice uses Cat 7 bulk cable and terminates it with RJ45.
The "bulk" Cat 7 cable they use might well be tested to meet the Cat 7 standard, but once you put the non-standard 8P8C connectors on it, it can't really be called a Cat 7 product anymore.
The same goes for the Cat 8 Class 2 (i.e. Cat 8.2) standard which requires GG45 connectors as well. The Cat 8 Class 1 (Cat 8.1) standard does use 8P8C connectors, however.

Mine is connected directly to my ATT Modem. It fit and everything is working fine. I would suspect that it would work just fine for your ethernet port as well.

Will this cable work with my PS4. My internet speed right now is 100 mbs and the cable company said soon it will be going up to 300 mbs. Will this cable be good for the higher speeds ?

BEST ANSWER: The speed of your internet is dependent on the device at the other end of the Ethernet cable. If you have a modem, router or switch that only supports 10/100 (Fast Ethernet) speeds, this cable will not allow you to communicate at higher speeds. Check whatever device you are connected to at the other end to see if it supports gigabit speeds (also commonly referred to as 10/100/1000). Cat7 cables are commonly used to connect 10GB/s devices via Cooper, but you can use it to connect lower speed devices that use rj45 Ethernet jacks without any problems.

If you plan to do 10g, I would go for it. but with 300mbs, look for something called cat5, or cat 5e.
Shielded can be nice for long runs, but not required for your speeds.
Thanks

As long as the 8P8C (RJ45S) connectors follow the B standard on both ends the cables should function the same as Cat6 or Cat5/Cat5e. However, be aware that the length limitations are inherent to the HDMI standard and not to the cabling. These are unpowered adapters and add no additional signal gain through the cable.

is this (Product # 13660) CL2 compliant and be installed in wall?
A shopper
on Nov 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: From Belden cable website; "CMR cable, often called “riser-rated cable,” is constructed to prevent fires from spreading floor to floor in vertical installations. It can be used when cables need to be run between floors through risers or vertical shafts." "Even higher rated is CMP (plenum-rated cable). This cable is designed to restrict flame propagation to no more than five feet, and to limit the amount of smoke emitted during a fire. This makes it suitable for installation into air plenum spaces, including the space above a suspended ceiling where environmental air can pass through.". What does monoprice say?
CMP and CMR are both better than CL2.
From reading various GOOGLE search results (hint) CL2 is a fire rating but not an indication that it can be buried in the wall or ceiling.
CMX is lower or almost equal to CL2.
This is CMX so I wouldn't recommend in wall installation.

These cables are nothing short of amazing. The 7-foot length I chose are perfect for my sprawling office, where 4 desktops and 2 laptops coexist. And the safety clips work better than anything I?ve had in the past. Highly recommended!

Great Cable
I live on a mountain ridge that frequently gets hit by lightning. I used these cables to replace Cat5 cables that had damaged other attached equipment from lightning induced current. I hope the shielding in these cables will prevent them from conducting current induced by nearby lightning. These cables appear to be well built and top quality. I wish I had these type cables when I built my house.

Be careful with connecting this to 10GTek SFP+ 10GBase-T Modules
I've tested multiple cables from multiple lengths with multiple different 10GTek SFP+ modules and found the millimeter of movement while locked into the interface will cause connectivity issues. While the cable is pushed all the way into the module, the connection will drop. If pulled out about a millimeter (while still locked) the connection will come back up. I've tested and used other Cat6/Cat6a cables and didn't experience these issues I'm not able to put these cables into production with these SFP modules because of this. Connections not using these SFP modules seem to stay connected just fine though - doesn't matter the position while locked.
