Didn't actually need the extra power (peripherals are low power enough, using only 4-pins from the 8-pin connector on the M5A97 mobo is enough). Good for expandability though (CrossFire/SLI) .
You'll need this adapter if your motherboard has a 4-pin ATX connector and your power supply does not have one. In case you thought about trying to use the 6-pin PCI-E power connector instead of this adapter: don't. While the PCI-E connector will actually fit with 2 pins hanging off the side, the +12V and GND pins are reversed and you'll short out your PSU.
This adapter is an excellent value and does the job nicely. It fits snugly on both ends. Wires are 1.5 to 2x longer than other brands' offeringshelpful to me, but your experience may differ. My take on the wire colors: they are exactly what they should bethey follow the convention for the two signals that run through this adapter: +12V and GND.
Infinity's Basslink auto subwoofer includes P4 sockets for high (speaker) level input.
Replacement accessory cables from Infinity were overpriced and seemingly no longer available. These, after lopping 4-pin Molex connectors from a pair, along with Cat5E Punch Down Jacks and a Cat5 cable comprise a convenient and economical substitute.
PROS: Good price from a reliable source for high quality P4 connectors with pigtails.
CONS: Supplied with two black and two yellow wire would prefer unique insulation color for each.
Perfect, snug fit between existing 4-pin plug from the power supply (Corsair CX430M) to the motherboard (MSI Z87-G45). Easily searched for and found on Monoprice's website. It's just long enough to tuck along the case and reach around to insert into the motherboard.
PROS: Snug fit. Easily found on Monoprice's website. Quality product and inexpensive.
CONS: Please, please more colors. Red or blue at least, instead of yellow. But thankfully it was for a windowless case, so this is nit-picking.
