Hi,
I have a MacPro computer, the output for the video signal is DVI. I want to connect my ASUS monitor that is HDMI or DisplayPort to get a resolution higher than 1080p. This one is the right adapter ? Thanks.

BEST ANSWER: No, this is to go from DisplayPort to DVI, VGA, or HDMI. If your computer only has DVI out, it might not be able to support higher res than 2560x1440 (I'm a PC person, not a Mac person, so I don't know about your computer). You might be able to use a USB (3 or 3.1) to DisplayPort adapter, but note that their is often noticeable lag on the screen.

I have two apple monitors. one of them is already connected to my laptop via hdmi to dvi adaptor. i want to connect my second monitor (i will connect the second via the dvi port from this product). will this product allow for both monitors to run at the same time but separately ? not as just an extended screen ?

BEST ANSWER: This will mostly depend on the abilities of your laptop. If you are running a mac, this adapter will not work as it is a full size display port not mini diplay port. I wanted to get that out clearly before we move on. I think what you are asking is will this allow each monitor it's own desktop that is not a duplicate of another, the answer is yes. Where your question got confusing is that using each monitor in this way is called Extending your desktop. Having them be the same would be called mirroring (mac) or Duplicating (windows). These settings are not dictated by the adapter but in your display settings on your computer.

We are using this with a KVM. The problem is that the monitors won't wake up from sleep mode. I've turned off power saving on the PCs, but the monitors still go to sleep. Any ideas? 12802 DisplayPort 1.2a to 4K HDMI®, Dual Link DVI, and VGA Passive

Didn't work with Apple 30" Cinema Display in Windows 10
Didn't work with Apple 30" Cinema Display in Windows 10 via an nVidia 2080ti. Got a picture, but the maximum resolution was 1280x800. I wasn't able to find any drivers etc to get it to register the actual 2560x1600 resolution supported by the display.
Instead, I used a USB-C -> Mini DisplayPort adapter, connected to Apple's Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter. This combination worked perfectly, but is much more expensive. It would have been nice if the Monoprice adapter had done the job.

Just what I needed
I got a new laptop that has a display port. No way for me to use a projector or a tv set in the conference room.
I saw this adaptor and on top of it, it was at an unbeatable price. Delivery was fast.
The unit works flawlessly. I connect in no time and the image quality is second to none.
