Can this be used to connect my Surface Pro 4 to multiple external displays simultaneously?

BEST ANSWER: I have a surface pro 4, to do what you want get the dock. It has 2 mini display ports and the 1 on the side of the tablet will work too. You can run 3 external displays but there is a limit on resolution for each.

I bought one of these to use an external monitor on a Macbook Pro. I tested it and was unable to connect to multiple monitors. Only one option (HDMI, DVI, or VGA) can be used at a time.

I have an iMac that displays 2580 x 1440 will this adapter display that resolution on my 55" Samsung un55hu8550 television 9supposedly a 4K tv)?

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Most televisions will only support certain resolutions and will be locked into those. The user manuals will usually have each inputs supported resolutions. Looking into your TV, via HDMI it will support 720p, 1080i, 1080p, 4K UHD - 3840x2160p, DCI 4K - 4096x2160p. It may try to display the 2580x1440 but the picture would likely not fit to the screen properly. I hope this helps.

It will let you extend onto a second display at the 3840x2160 @30Hz via HDMI.

Help please: I have a new HP laptop with "USB Type-C Power Connector and Thunderbolt ports w/HP Sleep and charge display port output". I want to be able to run the laptop to my TV using HDMI. Great adapter
I have some older monitors and when I purchased a new PC, I had to get the old monitors connected. This adapter is versatile enough to be used for multiple types of connections. I purchased two and haven't had any problems with either of them. I have recommended them to others.

Works as advertised
Im using this to go from thunderbolt on a Mac to DVI on an older Dell monitor in order to have a second display. Connections works well. The connection has worked well so far except for one brief blip where the monitor did not get a signal.

Better than the laptop for which it is used
My work laptop is a Surface Book 2. Between home and random cubes, I never know what connector will be on the next monitor. This works flawlessly with all of them.
The Surface Book, itself, shuts down the DP when it blanks the internal display, and I have to re-arrange all the windows when I wake it up and it finds the adapter again.

Works when others don't
I am using it with a Surface Pro 3 dock. This model of dock was known for having issues with many Min0Display port adapters. I could not even get it to work with Monoprice's MiniDP to HDMI cables.
This adapter, however, works like a charm. I have not tried the DVI connector yet, but the VGA and HDMI ports just work. Windows recognizes the display and everything is crisp and clear.
