Will this box accept a padlock?

BEST ANSWER: There is a hole next to each of the latches that appears meant for a padlock. The hole is relatively small in diameter and the plastic is thick, so it may take some research to find a lock that fits (I think its to thick for a rigid TSA style/size lock, and the hole may be to small some smaller pad locks). We have been using the wire style TSA locks on this style cases with great success. Fits in the holes but has the length and flexibility to fit around.

All of these cases have hole pairs on each side for the small, cable locks. These are the small diameter, TSA approved, Master Locks, for example. A conventional paddle lock would be too bulky can get snagged on something. The cable locks will work just fine, however.
I fly with these cases using the TSA cable locks and have not had an issue.

Yes , each latch has a provision for 1 padlock for a total of 2. At the end, this box is made out of plastic. Your lock is only as good as the door.

Is there a hinge option to hold the top open?

BEST ANSWER: The lid opens to about 100 degrees so that it stays open when the case is placed on a flat surface.

THERE IS NOT BUT IN MY USE THIS HAS NOT BEEN AN ISSUE., THE LID STAYS OPEN JUST FINE FOR MY USE. THIS IS A VERY STURDY CASE.

Are monoprice cases airline approved?

BEST ANSWER: IMHO, cases aren't ever "approved" by airlines. Size and weight restrictions are more important. Are they durable enough for airline use, though? They seem to be, especially in this size, though it would be hand baggage, i would think.

BEST ANSWER: It has a thin layer of foam under the lid and on the bottom, approx. 1/2". Between that are 4 layers of roughly 1-1/4" thick foam. None of the foam is pre-cut. It works best if you use an electric culinary knife, the foam cuts very well with that. Its a good box, tough, sturdy with plenty of protection.

Are these cases stackable? It would be great if they locked together like some tool boxes. At a minimum I hope they stack nicely on two wheel cart or in the back of my SUV.

I Bought Four and They Work For Me.
I needed some medium-small hard cases for some GPS survey gear. I bought four of this model based on price and availability. The only real issue I have is that some of that latches are harder to open and close. Other than that the cases are very sold and a perfect size for me.

Seems solid so far.
Seems nice. I bought it to transport guns in my checked baggage. Only real complaint is that for some baffling reason not one standard lock fits the lock holes in it, i had to widen them out with a drill to get any lock to fit.
