There is not need for any driver. Try On/Off button which is second from the right in the top row, between Prt/Scr and Pau/Bre.

My backlit keyboard comes up dark when I power it up. If I want backlighting, I push the lights on/off button above Home. If I want darkness I push it again. So if i never touch that button it will be permanently dark. Yours is different?

Is it possible to have this turn on by default when the computer turns on (i.e. not have the user turn on the keyboard manually)?
A shopper
on Sep 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: As far as I know the options to turn on the "Caps Lock", "Numbers Lock", or even the "Backlit Feature" would all be controlled in the BIOS of your motherboard. You'll have to reboot, hit the "F2" or "DEL" key several times while booting to get into the BIOS. At that point you'll have to look around to see if that option is available. It may or may not be available... depends on the BIOS of your motherboard. But you'll know you are in the right area when you locate the option to turn on or off the "Caps Lock" and "Numbers Lock". Hope that helps.

The keyboard will be usable immediately after powering on your computer. The only thing that would need to be turned on is the backlighting for the keys with the button next to the NumLock button.

White LED lighting would be much better. Dear Monoprice, will you place make a model with white LEDs?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, thanks for your feedback. Right now we have the backlit mechanical keyboards with the white LEDs, products 33539 and 33542. We're working on more non-mechanical options with white LEDs, probably for Q1 or Q2 2020 as well. Thanks!

Hi Charles I also would like a white option led back lit keyboard for my own home use although I do like the blue led for my use in our spa setting as the rooms are all with subdued lighting and this choice works well for that. Hope this helps.

Is 58" considered short, average, or long for cable length?
john p
on Jul 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, 58" is an average length, but whether that is short or long might depend on your setup. If connecting to a laptop or computer case that's on top of your desk, the cable would be long. It's probably just the right length if your computer case is directly below your desk. It might be short if the case is below the desk and towards the far corner, in which case you could get a USB 2.0 extension cable like Product 5432 if needed.

Just what I needed
If you're afraid this keyboard is thin, cheap plastic, lightweight and just overall "bargain-basement" feeling, don't worry. It's solid and has a good heft to it. The keys feel great; no uneven or sticking keys. And the backlighting is good. I won't say "great" or give it 5 stars, because it's a little, little too bright for me. It would have been nice to be able to choose levels of brightness, but hey. For eight bucks, whadaya want? That would have added to the cost. Once again, Monoprice delivered on a great product for practically beans.

Seemed nice, but failed embarrassingly quickly (twice).
I ordered one of these a while back, and was initially pleased. After about two months, a couple of the keys started malfunctioning intermittently, and the LEDs on some other keys started to fail. Without any issues, Monoprice authorized a replacement. I've now had the replacement for about 2-3 months, and similar issues are happening (though to different keys this time). I'm about to seek a refund/return through Monoprice, and will likely seek out a completely different keyboard. Can not recommend.

Not worth the low price.
Within three months the key surfaces were worn off - thus - while 'back light' were unrecognizable - just a 'dot of light.'
The space key often sticks in the down / pressed location.
The CAPS key sticks as well.
