Like these a lot but color changed...
These are great, but i don't know why the color has changed from black / dark grey to a light gray color? It no longer matches the photo shown and the new color is an eyesore. no matter where you use it.

    PROS: Great surge, mounts well

    CONS: Color change unspecified

    USB charging ports unreliable
For a short while I was very happy with this, especially because of the desk mounting clamps, and the ability to charge two USB devices. However, within a few weeks one of the USB ports died. Now I have to charge my iPad with a plug in charger.

    PROS: Desk mountable

    CONS: USB ports flaky

    Response from Monoprice

Truly sorry to hear one of the USB ports failed on your surge protector. Does the issue remain when testing different devices or switching out the USB cable? Is the other USB port still providing a charge? Should the issue continues, I can assist you with setting up an RMA for a replacement to see if that will work better for you. We offer a 30 day return policy as well as a one year warranty on this item. Obtaining a replacement would be of no additional cost to you. Please let me know if anything changes or if you would like to continue with a replacement.

    Mountable Power Strip/Surge Protector
My step-father and I built captain's beds out of red oak for my two boys for Christmas 2012. These have headboards but i didn't want to have holes cut into the wood for power cords. My mother found these on Monoprice. We absolutely love them. We ordered one for each bed back in 2012 and have them attached vertically on the front of the headboard/bookshelves. We have moved 2 times since then and even with that and two preteen boys using them, everything works perfect to this day. We have not had any problems with the USB ports or any of the outlets. My family buys many items from Monoprice.

PROS: No drilling to mount to a surface, 2 USB ports, has held up for 4 years with rowdy boys!

CONS: Would be nice to be able to swivel the mount so you can change direction of cord-but still an awesome power strip!

Why doesn't every surge protector have a mount?
Until I saw it on monoprice I truthfully did not know such a thing existed. Now that I have used one, I am having trouble figuring out why we ever did it the other way. Who really wants an outlet on the floor?

When mounted horizontally the power cord comes out of the left side, take that into account if you would rather have the cord go to the right. If you mount it the other way, essentially 'upside down', then the top of the mount will protrude quite a bit up over the top of the surface that you're attaching it to. When mounted the right way, the top of the mount is less than half an inch above the surface which worked well for the shelf that I was attaching it to.

I just wish the power cord came out on the right! In my case it worked out alright as I was nowhere near needing the 6 feet of cord, but if that length is crucial to your set up and your outlet is to the right of your intended mounting location, you'll lose about a foot having to double back past the bar or be forced to mount it upside down to use the full length.

Otherwise, great product so far, nice to be up off the floor, feels more civilized!

PROS: Easy to mount, two different outlet angles (2 are horizontal), built in USB charging points

CONS: Mounting surface has to be relatively flat, can only be mounted one way.

Took a chance with a product that has a spotty reputation with the hopes that i will not have an issue. Will be keeping an eye for issues and will report in if anything occurs.

PROS: Great concept and will work nicely to fit my needs. Only hope is that Monoprice has worked out the issues with the dying USB ports that have been reported on this item.

CONS: Hopefully none, time will tell...

Nice helper and more versatile that the ones I have
Great space saver and well organized extension plugs just what I needed, along with USB charger for phones and tables.

    PROS: Surge protector
Plugs for bulky power supplies along with cord plugs, well designed
2 chargers for cell phones and tables great solution for my desk
Capabilities to fix it to the leg or flat surface of a desk - priceless space saver.

    CONS: None so far.

    love it!!
Love this power strip. I use it as a bed side strip by securing the clamps to the side rails of my bedframe. Works great. Makes charging phone and plugging in other appliances a snap, as I don't have to, even get out of bed to be able to reach the plugs & USBs. Great design!

    PROS: Just about everything!

CONS: Wish it had a flat plug for those tight spaces.

Excellent idea, great for in-celing projects
Desk mounting is nice, but installing this in the ceiling on my joists is what let me to this product. Probably not up to code, but I have projectors, DVRs, repeaters, and other things above my drop ceiling in my home that need power. This attached firmly to by ceiling joists, and the layout of the outlets allowed me to plug 3 block-style power supplies in without losing other valuable plugs. Having USB ports is a plus.

I can also mount these to our classroom-style tables in the conference room on the table legs without having unsightly zip-ties.

PROS: Mounts on 2x4's, table legs, SOME desk lips.
2 USB charging ports eliminates the need for block chargers/adapters
Spaced outlets lets you plug in those bulky block power supplies that otherwise cover other outlets
Power switch is recessed in the side of the unit so a block charger/power supply doesn't accidentally flip the switch.

CONS: Relatively high-priced as far as surge protectors go, but still worth it to have at least 2 or 3 around.

Fast, quality and can't beat the price
Excellent overall - see pros/cons. I'd buy again and will recommend.

PROS: Our students absolutely love them.

    Cord is substantial

Price could not be beat - and we looked hard!

    Great delivery

CONS: Can only mount one direction - I wanted to flip it 180 degrees but no go.

Cannot take the screws off the mounting - the distance with which you can mount is a bit limited, but would fit most tables.

    Exactly what it is
If this is what you want, then this is good to get. I am satisfied.

PROS: Works, if "this is what you want this is what you get" - Guilty Simpson from Take Notice

CONS: hmm.... not invisible, takes up literal space, not wireless. joke
