Will this work on a Red Hat Linux box?

BEST ANSWER: I assume Linux has standard USB device recognition, if a USB mouse works with your linux computer then this converter will work just fine. I have also used it on win98,winxp and win7 pc's. , pentium II systems with usb 1.0 even work with it.

Monoprice PS/2 Keyboard/Mouse to USB Converter Adapter, Black
Monoprice USB to PS/2 Dual PS2 Converter Adapter
BEST ANSWER: The main differences I saw was 1) color and 2) build quality. I chose the White version because the PS/2 connector and cable seem more robust. That may be just how the product looks, but functionally, nothing is different.

I want to use this on a new build. On an existing computer, I had to connect just the adapter with the keyboard and mouse connected direct to the computer's PS/2 port so that Windows could recognize the adapter and install a driver. How am I going to get this to work on a new build which hasn't even had an O/S installed yet?

Ps/2 Keyboard to USB connected
Convertor saved PS2 keyboard to use with newer MB. Device took some time to arrive. It is high quality and should work if using a mouse. Works good to control computer Bios. Have not tried it yet with Win 10.

Works as designed
Being a lover of the 1980's IBM Model M keyboards, technology has run off and left the PC/PS2 interface. This device adapts ancient technology with today's USB connections. I don't need or use the mouse interface, but this one is tested working. IBM's model M keyboard was such a stroke of excellence that many people didn't want to give them up, including myself. Unicomp is still making new ones.

Monoprice PS/2 Keyboard/Mouse to USB Converter Adapter
It works. I had to manipulate the pins on the male PS2 connector so that it would plug in . After fiddling with that it has been working fine.

This adapter works as advertized. It works flawlessly when connects to my old IBM keyboard and my logitech mouse and need no driver upgrade on my Lenovo laptop.

All I can say is that it works as intended. That's not always the case with Amazon. Ha!

Works well as a PS/2 adapter
This works much better than the last PS/2 adapter I used (over 10 years ago). I'm not sure, but I believe this is an active adapter.
