Terrible Installation Process, But Looks Nice Once Complete
Once it is installed, the mount definitely does it's job. Extremely flush and easily holds all the TV. The biggest problem is the mechanisms for "locking" the TV to the wall mount. It uses little metal clips on springs essentially that clip to the bottom rail of the wall mount and they are just totally janky and the actual hardware itself was so thick that it was pushing up against the wall. It took way more fiddling and effort than should have been necessary to get the TV to actually clip in on the bottom. So from an installation perspective I do not recommend this mount, but after it's installed it does look good and function correctly.
I thought that at $15 it would be just an alright tv mount, but it actually feels very sturdy and well made. The mount bent metal pieces that attach to the tv and the wall both are very stiff with no flex at all. It comes with pretty much everything you'll need. It has 2 different kinds of spacers, 5 different threaded screws for the tv vesa pattern, and dry wall anchors with what looks like 3/8" screw. I didn't like the dry wall anchors they provided because they don't like to grip very well and they are for 1/2" dry wall so if you have anything different then you'll have trouble. Overall though, I am very happy with the mount. Recommended.
Love it! (but check the plugs on the back of your TV)
Great price, very stable, and VERY low clearance from the wall. It was just perfect for our application. However (because it has such small clearance from the wall), if your HDMI cables come straight out of the back of the TV, they will never clear the wall. Make sure that your TV has the jack so that the cables will come out parallel to the wall.
Also, if the back of the TV is not flat, this may not be the mount you want. Some TVs have a "bulge" at the bottom which will totally nullify the "slim-mount" feature. With this mount, you have less than a half-inch to play with.
If your TV is appropriate for a slim-mount, this is the one for you.
I bought this mount for a freestanding tailgating TV setup. And for that purpose it is working great. The quick release handles make setup and tear down nice rather than having to lighten/loosen set screws or just hang the TV and hope it doesn't get bumped too hard and falls off the mount. I'm not too sure how useful the quick release handles would be in a traditional in home setup, but I guess its a lot easier pull and release the handles to seat the TV rather than try and fit a screw driver up there.
PROS: Slim Design, Sturdy, Built in Level, Large Assortment of Included Hardware, Nice Quick Mount/Release Feature (tool-less mounting and removal)
CONS: Without traditional set screws, the TV is free to slide side to side on the mount. This isn't a huge problem since the TV can't slide off the end due to stops, but it might be an issue for some.
This wall mount is extremely thing and makes new slim TVs look excellent on the wall. A recessed outlet is a requirement with this mount. 90 degree bends may be needed to ensure connections are parallel to the wall.
I ordered 2 mounts, one for a 40" and one for a 55", no trouble installing either one although I did need assistance hanging the 55", and managed to dislodge my HDMI connections. We had to take it down, reseat the connector and rehang, taking more care in the hiding of the power cord the second time. Both TVs had flat backs so I used no spacers on either one allowing me to take advantage of the lowest possible profile for the mount.
PROS: As slim as advertised
Seems sufficiently sturdy for the size TV it will hold
I shopped around at all the major club stores and found this mount to be of equal or better quality and since I was looking for the thinnest flush mount I could find for the least amount of money this one was it. At a third the price of a club store it was a real find. Took only a few minutes to install with simple easy to follow instructions. I didn't even need help hanging the TV. I did everything myself... it was that easy. I would definitely recommend this mount for anyone looking for a flat (not tilt) wall mount.
PROS: Super compact, yet strong enough for a 55" LCD HDTV.
Installation took less than 15 minutes.
Very thin so TV does not protrude from the wall much.
My Samsung UN40H6350 40" TV has a thicker bottom section than the top. When mounting it to the two vertical racks, I found that using the provided spacers, the screws were not long enough to engage the VESA screw holes in the back of the set. Instead, I had to use thinner spacers and mount the TV to the vertical bars at a slight angle.
This turned out to be a good thing, because the TV set also has an ethernet port on the back that absolutely was not usable with the main rack mounted to the wall - it was simply too tight to fit. The solution I came up with was to use the spacers that wouldn't work on the back of the TV to mount the main rack slightly out from the wall, which provided sufficient room for the ethernet cable connector. The result isn't quite as tight against the wall as it should be, but it's sturdy enough and doesn't look too bad.
I don not recommend this mount unless your TV set has a very flat back and its cables for power and inputs connect on the bottom or side, rather than the back - otherwise, it's just too "low profile".
Don't waste your money! My professional installer said he wasn't comfortable using it as he didn't trust it, even if it had fit. Cost me an extra $50 for installation, since they had to come back the next day after I scrambled to find a usable mount. Will cost me more to ship it back than I would get in a refund, so I guess I'm just stuck with it.
CONS: Didn't fit my 42" Visio. Super lightweight and cheaply made.
