Does anyone have a picture of this with an actual TV on it? It looks like when it is folded back up against the wall that the mount is visible from the front view. Is that correct?

BEST ANSWER: You are correct. Depending on the size of your TV, VESA locaiton, and soundbar it might show on the bottom. You need at least 30" from the top to bottom to make sure it's covered.

I have my 50" installed as low as possible on the bracket and the base of the mount still shows about 6" below the TV when pushed back against the wall. I don't think this can be avoided with a pull-down mount.

Depends on what size TV you are mounting. I used a 65 inch TV and it covered the whole thing. A 55 inch will show rhe bottom part of the attached mounting plate. Tried to put a photo but cant.

Does this mount go flush against the mount when lowering the same as it does when raising? The pictures only show it going against the mount in the upright position. TIA

BEST ANSWER: When the mount is fully collapsed, in stow position, there is about a 7 degree angle, maybe less, from 0 or 90 degree. This puts the top of the tv mount about 2 1/2 inches out from the wall mount.

Does this mount have the option to stay in the horizontal position once extended out? When I set it up it falls to lowest position even though I tightened the screw in the tightest option.

Is there a way to secure the mount to the drywall only? All of my studs magically does not line up with the holes on the mount.

BEST ANSWER: They do.make mounting hardware made for use in drywall. It's a screw that spreads out once it is through the drywall. I would not recommend that because of the weight of the TV. You could try mounting a 2x4 to studs and then use the 2x4 to hang the TV mount to. Not very pretty but it would probably work.

No, you definitely need to have it mounted to the studs. When moving or positioning, it needs the secured to studs. It will not hold up with only sheetrock. You could always drill holes to line up to the studs. Good luck

BEST ANSWER: No, it is not. This may be due to the model of TV, but I have a six inch deep mantel, mounted the plate 5 inches above the mantel, with the tv at the lowest possible mount for the hooks, it barely clears the ceiling in the upright position and the bottom of the mount is visible. When the tv is pulled down, the mount plate is mostly visible. It is only possible to hide the mount by pulling the tv out to a 90 degree angle, which is a couple of feet away from the wall. I think this is a problem common with this type of mount. More expensive ones just have nicer covers to hide the plate and bolts.

Will this pull out and rotate to the right and left from the mount so the TV is against the wall on either side?

BEST ANSWER: The pivot point for rotating left to right is at the point where the TV is mounted to the bracket, not where the bracket is mounted to the wall. So when the TV is pulled forward and down, it is well away from the wall at that point, and can only swivel at the end of the bracket.

The TV mount can only rotate 30 deg to each side. Depending on how far out you extend it, you could get it to touch one side. With my 50 inch TV mounted and it extended out as far as it can go and rotated to its limit, the edge is still about 11 inches away from the wall.

What’s the best way to conceal cables with these mounts? We love ours but aren’t sure how best to hide dangling cords without impeding the range of motion when moving the TV up or down.

BEST ANSWER: good question, I have a small xfinity box, I attached to the back of the tv and used the shortest HDMI cables I could find where possible. any longer cables, power cables etc I zip tied using the couple of small eyelet type openings on the arms. it did take a few adjustments as it needs some slack to go from upper most to fully extended in down position. I also mounted the sound bar below, and that helps hide some of the cables as well. again using the shortes hdmi cables possible

The arm has a piston to act against gravity on the tv. I think upside down it would work with gravity and just keep going back down to the recessed state.

BEST ANSWER: It depends on the depth of the mantle. (How far it projects from the wall). I believe there was an obscure spec in the instructions about this. My mantle is 9” deep and I installed the bottom of the mount about 10” above the mantle. I wasn’t too crazy about the fact that with the TV in the up position, the bottom portion of the bracket is very visible.

Is there any way to tell how high off the floor the top of the TV will be when the mount is in the "up" position? I need to know if my ceiling is high enough, but there is nothing in the specifications that tells me how much the TV will extend above the mount.

There is not a weight limit for the soundbar portion specifically, overall this mount can handle up to 62 lbs.
If you have a center channel speaker with the proper holes and weight this would work no problem.

BEST ANSWER: On the average would be as much as 30". If tv is over a mantel, it depends on the depth of mantel. The deeper the mantel, the less it can drop down because it does need to clear the mantel itself. Mine is a deeper mantel but tv drops down plenty. It is adjustable so it doesn't have to drop down to the lowest position either. It's a great product. Very happy.

I have now purchased two different wall mounts. In the video shows that the mount will swivel from side to side 120*. The specs show +- 30*. Which is it? I need to pull the tv down from above a door and have it swivel AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE to be able to view from different rooms. Thanks

I just mounted this and it’s great (hint: use the height grid in step 5, but remember the footprint of the thing is ~6” below where your actual TV will sit—so don’t go higher)...but I have a Bose TV Speaker soundbar which mounts with screws on the bottom rather than the back—and the span of these screws overlaps with the forks for the soundbar attachment. Any suggestions for a workaround which doesn’t get rid of the pull down handle and mounts securely without collapsing into the horizontal soundbar beam?

A few defects, ultimately a winner
Frankly, I should give this a four because I had to modify a few of the pieces of metal that didn't fit together. Also, the mounting height instructions are way off. I had to remount it.
However... Now that it's up I can't believe how much I love it. And the price monoprice is selling it is a total steal. It's like 1/10 of other options on the market.
So a few product defects and installation headaches aside... The low price makes up for it.

Very nice above the fireplace mount. Extremely pleased with this purchase. Been about three weeks into the install and did not have any issues. I used this to mount a 65 inch TV

High value, over the fire place tv mount
Everything went together as promised by the description. Lift support is little tighter than I would like to have but is adequate for my 55" tv. Another word, this not a one hand operation. The store position is also higher than I expected. One point for the manufacturer to note is that US houses are built with 14" stud (typically) spacing and trying to fit something with 12" incremental spacing is little challenging. Only issue if one is trying line up with fireplace opening. Otherwise, it installs and works well. I also purchased monoprice wall plugs to bury hdmi, optical and coaxial cables in the wall.

Great product!
I am very impressed with this tv mount!
I looked for weeks and considered many mounts. Finally I found this one online. It does everything I need it to do and looks great. It has good range of motion, is heavy duty, and retracts nicely against the wall.
I could not believe the low price. The other mounts of this type are $200-300. I wasn't sure this was a real deal until I received the mount and put it up.
I am very pleased and now know this company offers great products for great prices. I would definitely buy from them again. This was one of those things that seemed too good to be true, but it was true. Thanks!

As expected
Took off a star, as the included screws do not fit a Sony TV. Monoprice support was useless, as always. Other than that, it does what it's supposed to do.

The Core Workout Watcher
This product is heavy duty. It comes with all the necessary screws and such to install, and enough extras to account for varying TV size and shape. I would recommend two people to install due to weight, however instructions are easy to follow, and I clenched my teeth, bared my grit and got to work like the lone wolf I am. The addition of a sound bar holder is nice. But this is definitely meant to be installed on short to medium height mantles. I used it for a very tall built-in mirror at an older apartment and now I'm looking straight up into the ceiling corner to watch anything. Its helping support the muscle growth in my neck, giving me a nice chiseled look from the neck up. I can slightly lean back to add additional resistance to my abs, subsequently making television watching a physical core workout for me, and I'm working fat off. So if you want that, install it up high. However I'd recommend ensuring you can install this bad boy at max like 6 or 7 feet high, no higher.
