How thick is the cable? Will it be detectable under carpet?

BEST ANSWER: the cable is about 2-3 mm thick. if the cable is directly under the carpet without padding the bump might be noticeable but if its's under carpet with padding you'd probably never notice. I would definitely recommend taping it down if possible to prevent the cable from chaffing under the carpet.

You will love this flat cable in many applications! It's perfect for under the carpet, attached to baseboards, walls, etc. I even use this in 1' conduit and run outside to my mobile tech lab (tent).

It's not very thick at all. I can't tell you the thickness measurement off hand, but I have one of mine mine running under the carpet for about 30 feet and it's not detectable.

It’s about 1/16th of an inch thick. It would not be detectable under carpet or an area rug.

It's fairly thin, but I wouldn't put it under a well traveled path.

Cable is really thin. Shouldn’t be detectable under carpet

Good Long, flat Ethernet cable
Cable hooks into modem and computer good. No Manufacture or shipping defects as far as I could tell. Data transmits no problems. The cable is flat enough to go under my door as intended so it doesn't snag against the floor.
Overall great product for the price. I just wish there were more colors. But that aint a big factor for some thing that's gonna be plugged in and forgotten for a long time anyways.

Does the trick
Does the trick. It's a 100ft flat ethernet cable. No memory to it, so it's easy to lay flat and run from one corner of my apartment to the other along the baseboards.

Good product, but better available for most applications
This product does what it is supposed to dotransmit data over a long distance (100 feet) and lie flat doing it. However, I think that for most applications, such as getting signal to a remote location, Monoprice offers better options.
Two alternatives sold by Monoprice are the ethernet over powerline converter (product ID 12288), which will allow transmission of data at 1 Gbps speeds to anywhere you have a plug or 9921, which allows transmission at 200 Mbps speeds with a wireless connection set up as well. Both offer the possibility of a secure environment, as well.
So why, then, did I buy this cable? I wanted to test a connection from another remote location where the powerline connectors would not have worked. And I didn't want to build a 100 foot cable to do it.
The upside to this cable, as has been pointed out in other reviews, is that it lies flat. The downside is that the first time you open it it is pretty hard to figure out how to get it not to "rats-nest." And if you can rewind it like it was when you got it, you have more patience than I do. I ended up doing the "no curl" hose wrap to store it.
Summary: Good product, but there are, for most applications, more effective products available. I would not buy this a second time without having an application that would not use those more effective products.
PROS: Lies flat
CONS: Hard to unwind (the first time) and hard to re-wrap

Great so far!
I ordered this to replace a shorter cable for better cable management. The gaffers tape (ordered elsewhere) came the same day making for perfect timing. Speeds are excellent couldn't be happier!
PROS: Cable came quickly and was exactly what I expected
