Is there any difference between voice and data phone cable ?

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Yes, the pinout would be different between a voice and data phone cable. You would want to confirm which type of cable your phone would require. A typical land line phone would use a reverse/voice cable. Where you would use a data/straight for a DSL modem.

i've been doing telephone tech work for years and i never made a line cord that was reversed. what pairs are reversed and why?

BEST ANSWER: I used this cord to daisy chain a communication line between high voltage LED lights. California light works uses this type of line.
