While you can buy inserts with Keystone sockets that are compatible with Leviton plates (I assume you are referring to Decora)?, it is far easier simply to buy a plate that has the number of keystone sockets you need.

Probably stupid question, but does a banana plug fit into both sides of this keystone jack? Or does the back side of the jack need a bare wire?

BEST ANSWER: Yes a banana plug will fit on both sides as long as you have the room in the box etc on the back side.

BEST ANSWER: It's light, so not brass. Either aluminum or plastic. Plated in gold (I think), for conductivity. Very good value, though I generally would choose a brass terminal. However, could find an alternative which had the density of terminals I needed.

Is there a hole through the side of the post on the front? Banana plugs stick out too far.

BEST ANSWER: There would be holes on the side of the terminals that you can install bare wire into on both ends that are exposed by unscrewing the terminal.

BEST ANSWER: You can use banana plugs or just thread the cable on to the connector…I generally would prefer putting banana plugs on both ends for a cleaner look & better connection

BEST ANSWER: It handles the standard BANANA SPADE PLUG. If Max Is wondering if it will handle 1/4" I do NOT think it would do any good since it is ONLY A SINGLE WIRE connection. This Keystone is Identical to the Red Ring Keystone just with the Black Ring.

I have 6 single speakers in the entrance of my home to play holiday music for guests. I purchased 12 of these as each speaker wire has 1 red & 1 black wire each. Made it look very organized on my wall.

Keystone inserts and wall plates
Updating my basement sound system, I replaced all the old (Radio Shack) keystone terminations and wall plates with Monoprice products. Every type of connection (RCA, Cable, speaker, fiber optic, HDMI, and Ethernet) was easy to install and stayed in place in the plate, a big improvement. The quality was far superior to what I had, sturdier plastic and better design to keep the inserts inplace. I also added other cable management plates. The final look of all the terminations is very professional.
