Can this cable be placed in a wall according to code?

BEST ANSWER: There is no electrical current with TOSLINK, so to the extent of my knowledge there should be no issue with code....but that is just an assumption. I checked with Monoprice on these sorts of issues.

I don't see why not, but either contact Monoprice or consult a local licensed electrician for the most accurate information.

How thick is the cable?

BEST ANSWER: it is relatively thin I have it installed and am not in front of it currently so i can't measure Diameter but it is not overly thick. Hope this helps

Would this work well in a car environment? I have these for home and do come out easier than expected. I worry about bumps knocking loose. What else would you recommend?

BEST ANSWER: If you do a proper installation and secure the cables every 6” or so you should be fine as there will be no movement in the cables. But if you do not secure the cables or the devices are not mounted securely (where there is movement) then you could have an issue with any toslink cable

Mike, I have also had them just pop out for no reason. I switched to a smaller rounder connector (still in Mono price) you have to hear a good click when you insert it, if not it pop out.

Does this cable pass a 24bit or 32 bit/192khz signal?

BEST ANSWER: It will do both, how long is it is it SPDIF out and in you’re golden. However my opinion of this cable the the ends aren’t the greatest. They are a little big and a little heavy and on my system it tends to fall out from time to time which is a bit of a pain in the butt. The quality is great just the ends aren’t the best.

Nice Looking Cable
This was the first time I have used a DOAC cable. I recently purchased a DAC so could connect a vintage receiver to my digital television. To my great satisfaction everything worked great. Looks great! Ends too large, cant get firm connection.
First. The cable and styling are great!!
However the end are large and therefore I dont get a good connection with my Bose speaker because that area wont quite allow firm contact. Its not worth sending back and as long as I dont knock it out of the speaker its ok.
