These cables worked perfectly for the 10 Gigabit connection I hooked up! The network is faster than ever now! Thank you for getting them shipped out quickly.
On one end the colors are yellow and white, on the other it's blue and red. Using these as fiber jumpers on a production can get time consuming when you have to use light to identify each strand. Having the same colors on both sides or an identifying marker A/B or 1/2 would be amazing.
PROS: Cheap, works, easy to separate the dual ends
Monoprice is one of those gem suppliers that provide top quality products at low prices. We use SM 9/125 fiber throughout our network. I have faith in the products, I have not had one issue with any of patch cables I have ordered.
PROS: Professional quality, Dow Corning fiber, end caps on the fiber strands, works every time
CONS: Other than the fact I cannot order a 2m cable, none.
I could not make my cables work at first. Was struggling until I remembered that you must have the fibre equivalent of a crossover connection to make things work (Sending fibre must be connected to the receiving fibre on the other end)
So finally realizing that I noticed that you can remove the piece of plastic holding the two individual SC connectors and then switch them around. I did that on one end of the connection and everthing worked perfectly at that point.
Also useful to know that the two halves can be split apart if your device or jack do not have the two SC connectors at the exact distance of the duplex configuration would give you. You can split them out and plug each in individually.
Good quality fiber patch cables, works as expected.
PROS: Works perfectly as expected. It is Corning quality core and the connectors were properly covered and protected. Each patch cable was shipped in a separate bag. I would definately recommend at this price for the quality of the cables we recieved.
CONS: Very minor, some of the twist ties were a little tight on the cable. Dissapointing that Monoprice does not sell a 2m cable, only 1 & 3m
I ordered these to compliment the existing (more expensive) cables connecting my switches to patch panels. In several cases I couldn't get these to work, but the expensive cables worked. It seemed hit or miss... perhaps depending on the cleanliness of the connectors on the switch and patch panel. Can't beat the price though!
