Are the pickups noisy ?
A shopper
on Feb 15, 2021
My guitar has very quiet pickups. They sound great. The ash body looks and feels great. It has full size pots and really nice neck and finger board. I have several T type guitars and I play this one the most.

Yes, they are a bit noisy, like all single coil pickups. You need to use a gate and also do some shielding on the guitar cavity.

Mine produces no electrical hum or buzz. I play at low volume but there is no sign of microphonic pick ups.

What does "sixe" mean. I have never heard this term when describing a neck and I consider myself very knowledgable when it comes to this stuff.

- New User U on Mar 3, 2020
It refers to the radius of the neck piece - which tells you if it is thick or thin, also the width of the neck. The profile may even not be circular, but more of a V shape.
The radius does not refer to the neck size. It refers to how round the fretboard is, not the entire neck. You can have a 12" radius thin-profile neck or a 12" radius "C" shaped neck or a 12" radius chunky neck, etc.

Pickup magnets? Fret size? How is the radius? How many piece body/neck?
A shopper
on Sep 8, 2020
I would like to know the component differences, if any, between the classic, DLK and DLX plus. Do these have the same pickups? Bridge? Nut? Tuners? Fret materials? Pots? From the website, it looks like the only differences are body materials, and, in the case of the DLX Plus, professional set up. Thanks!

Nice piece, Flawed handling
It's a really nice guitar. Has very well finished neck and frets. Fret ends were smooth as a baby's bottom. I am well satisfied with the Wilkinson parts and it was playable as set up from MP.
I'm disappointed with the condition in which it arrived, ( see attached photos) but it didn't seem worth the trouble of sending it back.

Zowie, I'm so happy!
Very impressed with my purchase. Right out of the box, it was ready to play. A minor intonation adjustment and I was ready to plug in! Also, for those that like pretty things, the finish is flawless and all of the shiny parts sparkle! Oh baby....
Like it so much I just purchased a matching Strat.

Excellent guitar and excellent price can't be beat !
This telecaster retro dlx plus is an excellent guitar set up perfectly the neck feels great smooth and no rough edges. The cherry burst finish is beautiful. It is a heavy one but that's ok with me. This is my second guitar from monoprice. I also purchased a boardwalk guitar that was also setup perfectly. The price and quality of Monoprice guitars can't be beat in my opinion. I also own signature Fender and limited edition Epiphone guitars so if you don't want to spend a lot Monoprice guitars are an excellent choice!

Excellent Telecaster
Excellent materials used in the guitar as found in guitars costing 5x to 10x more .. excellent craftsmanship.. clean and smooth fret work, solid components ie pots, knobs, switches, tuners, and brass bridge barrels ! Very very pleased overall.. tools included such as bridge n truss wrenches.. I lowered the action a tad and it's now one of my go to daily guitars ..

Very nice for the price!
The guitar and gig bag are nice. It's not a $1,000 guitar, but for under $200's, this is a very nice E. Guitar for any beginner or intermediate player that wants a different look and sound. It is a heavy guitar because of the Swamp Ash but the finish is beautiful and it is very playable without any modifications.

Beautiful Guitar With Issues
As I write this, I'm waiting for shipping instructions and a shipping label for a second replacement for this guitar. The first guitar I received had jammed saddles that could not be adjusted for intonation. I received a shipping label with instructions within 2 days of my request for a replacement. I appreciated the prompt response. I received the replacement within about 2 weeks. The replacement guitar had a hairline crack in the fretboard, and a loud hum which stops if I hold the bridge, which appears to be a grounding issue. I requested a second replacement, and am now waiting for a return shipping label. The response time for the second replacement has been slow.

NOT as advertised
Same issues others have stated. The guitar sent was not string through. Whoever their "master luthier" is that sets these up needs to find a new job. The bridge saddles were set up completely wrong and intonation was horrible. They also filed the nut down too low. The 13th fret needed filed down as it was sitting higher than the rest.

As advertised very awesome looking guitar!
Arrived packed in its padded gig bag still the 3 way selector shaft was slightly bent. No biggie was easy to straighten out. A little better packing wouldn't hurt though. What a pretty guitar with all of the advertised Wilkenson components. The frets are smooth and appear to be level. Tune er up and will start with c blues riff!

Great Telecaster in Cherry Burst
This is a great guitar. FedEx did a ding job on it, but otherwise it is amazing. Great tone and feel. Action was a touch high, but truss rod adjustment took care of that. The feel and look is solid. Ash is heavy, so no surprise there. But still a great tone through my Fender Mustang LT25 practice amp. Would definitely buy again... just wish they had a UPS option rather than FedEx. (FedEx in my area is notorious for damaging packages.). I plan to keep it, ding and all, as it is nothing more than I probably would have done in my own small studio area.
