Can this power sequencer be wired with a remote switch?

What do you mean by two low power and one high power group? Id like to use thise to sequence power up of 3 power amps. 1x 100w, and 2x 600w. Will the "low power" zones be sufficient to power 600w amps?
Adam
on Mar 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: All the outlets have the same amount of current. The low power zones have outlets spread further apart for items with wall warts. You need to figure out the total amp draw of all 3 of those power amps. If they are under 15A total draw, you can plug all of them in to this device.

It strikes me as strange that they're described as high and low current, if that's meaningless. I'd also like to stage start a 1400 watt and then a 2400 watt pair of amps. they never get within 10db of that, but I'd like to not hit the supply with the inrush on both simultaneously.

The high powered group is for amps and receivers. Use those, the low powered group is for streamers, DVD players and such.

Can this be plugged into a 20 amp outlet?
A shopper
on Oct 7, 2022
BEST ANSWER: A 20-AMP, 115VAC outlet has both the vertical and horizontal slots for 15A and 20A plugs so I see no reason it couldn't be plugged into a 20A outlet as long as you don't try to pull more than 15 amps through the device.

Yes. If you plug more than 15A worth of gear into this, the power conditioner built-in circuit breaker might flip, even though the outlet has more juice. But you can put this in front of any 15A+ circuit.

Yes, assuming that it's the usual 20 Amp outlet that also accepts the 15 Amp style of plugs (i.e, two vertical blades).

As a purchasing customer, I have absolutely no idea as far as CAD renderings. I can say that this product works as listed and I have zero complaints.
The only thing which took time was identifying the zone assignments (the "turn on/turn off" procedure) for my equipment - I have a 18 channel mixer (with up to 10 dynamic mics/ instrument inputs), a two-channel power amp for monitor speakers, two keyboards (with their own separate sub-mixer) and two 1000W keyboard speakers PLUS one main output from the mixer to a powered 1,000W speaker...it took a while, but I can push one button and get everything powered-up with no 'pops'.
Hope that helped.

Yes, just plug in the second one into the zone you want it to turn on. Remember, though, that this is a 15amp distributed among 8 outlets and then when you add a second that gives 16 outlets still spread across 15amp, so you will have to be careful and not overload the total 15amps from the circuit.

I would not recommend daisy chain the second one off of the first. You may have too much load on second one causing trips on the first.

If you plug this in with the switch ON, what happens? Choices are:
1) Everything powers on at once, no sequencing
2) it sequences the three power zones as if you had turned the switch on
3) It doesn't power anything until you cycle the switch, or
4) things power on briefly, then off, then sequence on (that behavior unfortunately affected a crummy competing power sequencer which is why I mention it).
Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: The only way to accurately answer this question is if you first know the maximum average current (Amperage) draw for each of the devices that you wish to connect. If the total of them all doesn't exceed 15 Amps, then your setup will work with this.

I have a Monoprice tube hybrid amp plugged into a Scarlet Solo 3rd gen (USB-c bus powered) and running output from my computer to a couple of Klipsch speakers. It works great on it's own but through the computer, there's a low level hum on both channels that's not there when I unplug the computer. I want to ensure that the ground is level and balanced between the computer and the amp so I can make sure grounding issues isn't causing the hum. Would this work as a conditioner and ensure that there's a common ground reference point? My alternative is a much more expensive Furman unit, so I wanted to check to see if this can do the same, or is this more about the sequencing. Thx.

I’m trying to record voice overs and am picking up what is most likely a 60 hz hum. I’m using a Steinberg UR12 which is plugged into a Mac Mini Pro 2 and a MXL 770 phantom power condenser mic, plugged into the UR12. When using the UR12 to monitor the sound, I hear the buzz there as well. The Mac is plugged into a APC UPC.
Would getting a power conditioner help reduce the noise?

Great sequencer but needs an unswitched outlet on the rear.
Works perfectly as designed but the design could use an unswitched outlet on the rear. I will keep using these as long as they remain available.

An excellent system addition
This power conditioner/sequencer performs exactly as advertised. It's been in service in my restaurant's A/V rack for just over a month now. Before we had to turn our 3 power amplifiers on after we powered up the head end gear, and off before the head end, in order to eliminate a turn on/off transient from a Peavey Kosmos bass processor. Now it's one switch doing the sequencing for us, and voila, the process is silent and seamless. Typical of Monoprice it's a good value compared to other sequencers on the market.

Great, solid performance
I?ve been using a pair of these in my theater rack for about 6months and they work perfectly. The timing between banks is about 2-3seconds and there seems to be no noise caused by the conditioner. The only draw back is the LEDs are extremely bright and not dimmable. To make things worse, the power LED is blue, which will light up a 1000sq ft theater. I made tinted plates to go over the lights with additional black out dots.

Why did I not get this long ago
I don't understand why every studio doesn't have one. Does the job perfectly.
I'm not a huge fan of the small power switch in a strange location rather than just a big one on either side.. kinda hard to see in the dark. A USB power or two would be dope, but the price sure is right for just the basics (and still 2 AC plugs on the front)
