What brand are the input and output transformers?

BEST ANSWER: Brand? At this price, you can assume these are Chinese clones built to at lest closely approximate original spec. That's not a knock. I haven't listened to this preamp, but my hunch is that this sounds decent, and has characteristic qualities of the 1073. Ie, in the ballpark. I'll probably pick one of these up to find out for sure. haha

I would never "assume" anything, one way or the other. Just as you said "I'll probably pick one of these up to find out for sure." That is probably the only way to know (other than someone who's already purchased it, sharing that info! hint hint!)

Who designed this Pre-amp? So when you say that it is a "1073-"STYLE" preamp, and aside from the color of the knobs and the esthetic look of it, how are it's GUTS (circuit path, and components actually comparable to a 1073? Thank you kindly. (very interested!)

Can't beat this pre-amp!
Solid. Mic or Instrument,. Super clean - clear transients. Super glad I bought this it's an integral part of my workflow now. Don't wait. Buy it. (no sh^t)
