Can the arm swing 360 degrees? My desk is at the foot of my bed and I would like to be able to swing it back and forth to face me in bed for entertainment and then swing back towards my desk chair to do school work. Is it possible with this arm?

Yes it does. You can swing 180 degrees without touching any hardware, 360 by loosening the height adjusting collar.

Can it be bolted into the desk?
A shopper
on Jun 5, 2020
BEST ANSWER: It cannot be bolted on top of the desk as is, but if a desk is 1 1/2" thick or more, you can disassemble the mounting bracket and use existing 2 or 4 holes (depending of the desk top thickness or presence of the vertical desk side) on the vertical part of the mount and bolt/screw it to the side of your desk. This, of course will limit the position of the fixture to the edge of the desk only.
Or, you can cut off/grind the vertical part of the mount, drill 4 holes on the upper horizontal plate and than bolt/screw it on top of your desk at any place...

Yes, If the desk has at least three inches from the edge and 1 inch thickness, if not you will have to use a small block of wood as a spacer.

It’s designed like a C-clamp so I don’t think it can be bolted “into” a desktop without drilling holes through it.

I have a lip under my desk 1.25" from the edge that the clamp will need to beyond to secure to the desktop. What is the distance from the inside of the mounting bracket to the disk on the screw clamp?
New User U

BEST ANSWER: If anyone else has this issue the easiest solution would to just get a small piece of wood or plastic as think as the lip, and just clamp it in place, or you could also just remove 2" of the lip in the spot where you need to install this... Either way send like not much trouble at all...

Excellent question. Inside the bracket to the inside edge of the disc is only 1/2". Obviously in your case that will not clear. The disc itself is almost 1-7/8" in diameter as well.
You essentially need a desk edge that has NO lip - as was the case for me with the desk I put mine on. I have two of them for my two monitors.
You could put the mounting bracket "backwards" and use the holes to screw it in to the desk, rather than being clamped. I did not need to do this, but that obviously would not be as secure, depending on how well the screws bit in to the desk.
These are GREAT mounts, highly adjustable. Maybe a new desk?? :)

I'm not certain the exact distance, but this isn't going to extend beyond your lip at 1.25"/32mm. When I've had this issue, I've tended to just keep it on the edge-side of the lip. They usually still hold well, although your lip is closer than any I've dealt with. If there's any way you can remove the lip, or just a section of it, that would fix your problem. Also, you might consider attaching a small wood block (say, a small wall footer piece that's 1" x 1/2" x 3") on each side of the lip with some finishing nails. That would give you a roughly 2.5" x 3" flat space to affix the clamp.

It's approx 1.25" from inside of clamp to screw. There is, however .5" from screw to inside part of bottom of clamp. If 1 1/4 " is all you have you could have a problem getting enough under desk for proper support.

Your TV should work if it meets the following: 1) max weight of 33 lbs. 2) Has VESA 50x50, 75x75, or 100x100 mounting pattern. 3) less than 15" from the bottom to the center of the VESA mount screws.
Thanks for checking.

No way to adjust horizontal tilt
if the arm is extended far off center, the weight of a new 27" monitor will make it tilt a little - normal and no biggie EXCEPT that you can't adjust the horizontal to compensate. I was counting on being able to move my monitor far to the left but now when I do it's tilted enough to be quite noticeable.

Decent Quality Economy Mount
We're using this mount on a test bench with a 22" HP monitor. It is completely adequate for the task, and does a good job freeing up bench space. The only negative is that the clamp does require a decent bite on the desk surface to be low-wobble. We ended up running two construction screws through the provided holes in the desk mount bracket.

Perfect place for what you need.
It's a perfect item. Fits in my big truck in the right place. I couldn't find this item anywhere else on line.

Eh, it's ok
For the price, I feel as though I received the product I paid for. The materials used in the product are solid, and it feels pretty sturdy overall. However, two things really disappointed me about the product:
1) The arm movement is really stiff - perhaps this is due to the product being newer, but moving the monitor from side to side is a bit of a workout.
2) The monitor hangs at an angle (i.e. not level) on the horizontal (side to side) axis. I tried finding ways to tighten the bolts to keep the monitor level but there was no way I could find to do so. That, more than the stiffness of the arm, is a deal breaker for me.
