We didn't need the audio wire, so I cut it off. I bought this one b/c I thought it was a better cable than the one without the audio wire.

PROS: Great price for the size of cable

One thing to say about me is that I work professionally as an IT guy, and work freelance doing A/V stuff in theaters. I know my way around technology and cabling.

I was trying to pick up a budget cable for my house to run my TV off a PC. When I bought it, "the fiasco" started. After hooking up the cable (not easy), I was pretty disappointed to hear interference from the audio. I decided that an RMA wasn't worth it, so I bought a dedicated audio cable. Then they sent me the wrong product. So I chatted in to get the right cable, and figured "while I'm here" I'll try to get this bad cable replaced.

On the wrong product the customer service was top notch. On the bad cable it was EPIC FAIL. TS - Manny H (Level 1) literally told me that the problem was that the cable was too long to reliably carry the audio signal. Sooooo that might lead one to believe he was in essence saying that Monoprice was selling defective products since the cable was designed and sold as a 75' cable. He further stated that it needed to be used with a sound card so it would get "stronger signal".

For those that are curious, a sound card's output is the same as onboard audio, but with a "better" sound. I also tried the cable with a few other devices, so it's not like it was the PC anyways.

Eventually he setup a RMA. I promptly went out and bought a replacement cable from Amazon that didn't have the problem. Go figure. Overall, the only reason that I gave it the rating I did is because the VGA signal was just fine. It might have got a three but the thumbscrews on on end were really sticky and hard to screw in.

CONS: The audio was always fuzzy and catching interference.

The customer service I got from "TS - Manny H (Level 1)" was TERRIBLE!!!

I tested this cable side by side with some shorter VGA cables (also from Monoprice). I used a high end notebook PC and a 52" Panasonic TV. There is some slight ghosting, color aliasing and instability in the image compared to the shorter cables. I purchased two of the 75ft cables and they both exhibit identical characteristics. These problems probably wouldn't be noticable on a smaller screen, or if you're not looking at text on the screen, or if you just aren't fussy about getting the best possible image quality. But for me the performance fell a little short of what I was hoping for.
